I was shocked to find this website www.salehoosucks.com

Hi there,

I'm a new member of salehoo. However, I just search the internet and find one website that is really shocked me. This website is ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members**
I don't know if there is anybody visiting this website before. If not, please click here.

** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members**

This website claimed that saleshoo is a scam and crap. The wholesale price and dropshipper price cannot beat the ebay price at all. So it is very hard to make profit by using salehoo directory.

I'm wondering this is true ? Does anyone has any idea and experience about it ? Please let me know. I'm a newbie in internet business and am so afraid what I read from this website. I need your comment.

Thanks in advance

Joe

Hi - you might be interested to read this:

This is our reply to the Salehoo Sucks website and will give you a bit more insight into that saga!

As far as making a living from the suppliers available on Salehoo, it is possible (many of our members do so), but it isn't always easy.

If you haven't already, I suggest that you start selling stuff from around the house on eBay to get a feel for what is in demand. It's hard to make money from the obvious things, but there is still a lot of demand for niche products and other more mundane items.

It takes time to find something - it can take a few months even. Please feel free to email us directly if you need help finding a particular product or some ideas. We'll be happy to help.

Remember that buying in bulk also has a big part to play in getting the best prices. Liquidation is also useful for getting prices below cost.

Hey, you're nobody online if you don't have haters. Anybody can have fans. It takes work to get detractors.

Anyone that can't see through Gibbs' rantings, especially the part about the affiliate commission (his own product's commission is, if I am not mistaken, exactly the same) probably would have just been a refund customer anyway.

Sounds like this guy is just looking for somewhere to place the blame for his own failures..If he would use that energy to improve and conduct his own business he would be much better off...

First of all ebay is a "below wholesale" market. Most all of the big guns selling on ebay are getting their products in large bulk purchases. The larger a lot you can buy, the cheaper the "per item" cost it will be...When your per item cost is extremely low, you don't have to have much of a markup to make a good profit since you can sell such a large number of items...All large businesses operate in this manner....This is why places like Walmart are so successful. They have very low profit margin on each item, but they purchase thousands of individual items at a time and sell thousands of items per day...Thus they only have to make a few cents or dollars per item to have a large profit overall...

That being said, you can find liquidators on this site and buy from them if that is what you want to do...Also many and most all true wholesalers will give you prices better than the ones listed on their site (if the show a price on their site) if you buy in quantities. This is why most all wholesale companies require you to set up an account before you can buy..They assign you a sales rep and this is the person who handles your account..Most often the sales reps have alot of leaway in setting the cost of the items and will cut deals with you depending on how many and how often you are going to buy...

This is why you should always keep in contact and set up a good relationship with your sales rep...

Most new sellers always fall into the trap of wanting to sell all the most popular items, such as video game consoles, cell phones,, etc..They see other sellers selling lots of them and think they are getting rich....The truth is that these guys are buying in large bulks at low prices and making only a buck or two per unit...I have one friend who sells xboxes on ebay..He does pretty well...How many xboxes do you think he has to buy at one time in order to get a price so he can compete on ebay??? $200,000.,,, at a time..that's what he spends per order..
That's right..That's alot of money and he only makes $15 per unit profit...

You should stay away from all the "Hot" products, such as electronics, designer handbags, designer clothing and such..The market is just to crowded and the profit margins too low for a new seller with low buying capital too make any money...

Most new sellers browse through places like ebay and their eyes are drawn to the items selling well and think they too can make alot of money. They don't realize that the people selling the high dollar items are buying in huge truckloads and selling for just a couple of dollars profit.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:

First of all learn to think "outside of the box".

Don't look for the items that everyone else is selling. Look for the unobvious. Just about anything will and does sell on ebay...

You need to shake your mind back into reality.
By this, I mean try walking around stores such as "dollar stores" "thrift marts",flea markets, yard sales, places like TJ MAXX. Browse through them and just take a good look at what is on the shelves. Doing this you can normally find something that will probably sell on ebay. Plus, if you see something that you then might want to try and sell, all you have to do is see what price it is, then go to ebays "completed listings" and see what it is selling for on there. If you can buy it cheaper than it's selling on ebay for, then go ahead and try it...

I have 3 daughters, two of whom sell. One buys coffee mugs and mats and small framed kitchen themed art work. She buy all of this at her local dollar store for about a dollar apeice..She puts them on ebay in sets or singles and gets anywhere from $14-27. Nothing fancy just coffee mugs with a logo on them,,it's called "chef bistro" or something like that, a chubby little itialian chef. And she sells several hundred of these per month..She makes as much or more profit on the coffee mugs than gene does selling his xboxes per unit..I asked her how she came up with the idea and she said that she liked them, so figured other women would too and that women are always looking for ways to spruce up their kitchens, so she thought she would give it a try...and it worked....

The point here is that it's just a cheap everyday item that everyone has a common use for,,nothing fancy,,nothing expensive,,but something you can make money on...

My other daughter has a boutique. Sells all the hot designer clothes and handbags,,etc..But one of her best selling products is a simple "cell phone charm". Its just a small charm in different styles like you would see on a charm braclet..She buys them for $2-3 each and sells them for $20 each.. Just a cute little charm that has a string for attaching it on your cell phone...She has trouble keeping enough of them on the shelf...Sells them like crazy...Makes about $17-18 dollars profit each on them..

These are the types of things you need to be looking for..Not your super duper electronics, but everyday products for everyday people..This is where you can make real money....

Yeah I read that site not too long ago. It was good for a laugh. But yes you are right. Your not really anybody unless you have competitors that do everything they can to bring you down.

gulfy13 you are so right. If mega corp can make money selling bottled WATER, then smallco like me can make money selling pretty much anything with a wide market.

Better to sell a million pieces at $1.00 profit than 1000 at $10.00 profit.

If we cannot make profit selling stuff on ebay because our wholesale price is not competitive enough. That means salehoo membership is useless. So I think I 'd better get a refund for being a member.

Hey Joe

There are plenty of people making money. I think too many people think they can make $1 million overnight :) Have a look around, use the research tool and look at what others are doing. We are happy to refund your money if you aren't happy but how about you give us a go and see what you think, after all you have nothing to loose and everything to gain.

Take care and remember we are here to help :)

Actually you need to know the difference between wholesale , retail and liquidations. If you know Ebay is a wholesalers marketplace. Then you need to find below wholesale products. That means you need to buy in liquidations as you can purchase liquidation lots at 22% of wholesale prices on average.

Salehoo has hundreds of links to bulk and wholesale sources and even our member sites run by small buisnesses are willing to make deals to get sales.

You can buy any list on the web, but if your not willing to use proper knowledge in your selling practices. It doesnt matter what memberships you have. You will still loose.

Dear Joe and all others disillusioned...

Yes - you're right, it IS tough. There is no question that the answer lies in creativity. Gulfy13 is right on with his response

It's not a question of Salehoo being rubbish (the forum alone is valuale in checking out prospective partners and sharing info)but all the other wholesale pages are similar. They offer wholesale contacts who rarely compete with eBay and Amazon.

Part of the problem lies in the fact that a great deal of counterfeit product has flooded the market, forcing prices down.

My own solution, apart from trying to develop as many different aspects to my business as possible (including eBay and Amazon), has been to invest in a highly professional website and to attract customers who are prepared to pay a realistic price.

Best of luck everyone,

Claire
