Jimmy at Salehoo - your eBay store?hi jimmy

Re: jimmy at salehoo
ProductsPlus wholesale Distribution ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** Is the name of my Ebay Store that most salehoo members know Of. I wont comment on the other usernames as they are used on niche products and we dont want 10,000 salehoo members knowing about those items. With this Account,We generally sell wholesale goods we purchase by the truckload. And we try to keep 300+ auctions running at all times. Sometimes its tough as its just me and my wife running the company most of the time. The current listings are listings from the truckload we just got in on monday and started listing. We intend to have over 500 listings running soon. We were gold level powersellers until ebay decided to punish us over an incident where my bestfriend decided to bid on one of our items to use as a christmas present. And just so happened to make the bid on his username using one of my home computers. They took our powerseller status and made us take some stupid 60 min course on ebay about shill bidding haha. But one thing that did suck about it was my layout at the time had Gold powerseller logos advertised on it. My recommendation is dont even bother with powerseller logos on your auctions. They are a pain in the rear if ebay decided to take it away for some stupid reason. You can get good ideas on how we mix our merchant account in our auctions to help bidders make payment. This is our permanant layout and it works great. We have not had any complaints or many questions by being very specific in the layout of our pages. Jimmy

Re: jimmy at salehooHi Jimmy!
I visited your ebay store products plus, I would like to ask you, #1- Which items do you put on auction and which items for buy it now? #2- If an item don't sell on auction do you put it up a second time for auction ? or you would put it for Buy it now?
Re: jimmy at salehoo
Hi, I dont have too many auctions running on ebay these days as Amazon is just much better, but I try to keep around 10 running just to keep my ratings up on ebay and its good advertising for my website. I run most everything in Auctions. When I have an item I want to sell at a fixed price I generally list it on Amazon. Ebay sucks as far as fixed price listings. If you list it on amazon for a good price you can sell that item in a matter of days. An item can sit in your ebay store for months and only get a few views. I generally only list items on ebay if I cant list them on amazon and I normally do not have to re list anything as all of my auctions start at 1.00 Now I do not recommend this tactic fore everyone. I have over a quarter million dollars worth of products in my warehouse to fall back on if I have a bad sale. So loosing money on a product is just a part of general business for me. If I were you I would research the products you are selling. And their average selling prices on ebay before choosing how to start the auction. If you paid little and your item generally sells high then a $1.00 bid would be great. If your item sells lower on ebay then you paid for it I would say list it as a fixed price item or sell it locally or somewhere else. Ebay is not the only way to make money on products. I have this problem with some of my pack buyers they only try to sell their items on ebay while our other buyers are using multiple ways to sell their items and making money while the buyer sticking with ebay has a higher risk of loosing money. Too many people think its the only way but its only 1 avenue out of over a dozen great ways to sell products. Jimmy
