Clean out the supplier directories.

Most of us understand that listing companies that make fakes is servicing a market, but the companies within the directories need to be defined.

It's easy to see that the new member demographic here is very inexperienced, and it's hard enough for them to get a foot hold, without having confusing listings.

They don't understand that these fakes service a specific market, and can quite easily get burnt embarking on a transaction where they think that they are buying genuine items because they find the supplier listed as a wholesaler.

I think it's not only the right thing to do, but is incumbent on Salehoo to make the supplier listings as defined as possible, and this includes brokers.

What on earth are these wholesale/dropshipper listings all about. Wholesale and drop shipping couldn't be more removed from each other if they were at each end of the planet to one another.

It just causes confusion with new members because they then struggle to distinguish between the two.

Wholesale should be for wholesale, and unless they can supply an MOQ at wholesale volume, then they are not wholesalers.

I think there is probably a market for brokers, and a listing for them would be appropriate. We already know that most will be offering the same things, with some price variance, but that would at least make it easy for the member to compare apples to apples, not compare them to Kiwi fruit!

Clean up the directories, and all members should receive a new supplier update via email at least every 3 months so we are all kept up to date with what is available.

No one wants to have tom troll through that current mess over and over again searching for new suppliers.

I would also like to see some company contact information for the most asked about items that members want. Let them contact the company department that can put them in touch with their distribution network.

It will not only give them quick access to the information they are seeking, but they will have no doubts even if the prices are too high for them to participate, no matter what anyone else tells them because they got the information direct from the source.

Membership cancellation!

Put a link on the forum side bar to cancel membership.

We all know that some will come and want to go because they haven't found the golden egg, and can't see the goose that laid it for the fog in their brain, but what we don't need is members taking up other members time with questions such as "how do I cancel my membership"

If they aren't happy, then make it a little easier for them to go, because that will free up the forum from the constant requests, and remove what will only become a negative influence through frustration.

It can't be hard, even instructions on how to cancel, but it is a little too hard at the moment in my opinion, and that of the ones that are trying to find out how to!

All kidding aside.

How about a section where only the best suppliers go in which they have to meet certain standards.
Including:
Price
Dropship speed/if offered.
Good sales/deliver history/proven warehouse and stock levels.
Perhaps special arrangements with suppliers

Eliminate any company that does not meet the definitions of a wholesaler
with higher than retail prices or large amounts of ship errors or times.

Send out memos to companies stating the guidelines and if they would like to cater to a 60,000 paying member forum.

Form an alliance with large retail suppliers such as D&H and others.

I think this could really become an incredibly one of its kind membership forum where members would find deals not gotten elsewhere.

Streamline what you are doing Jimmy and have Salehoo allow your items for sale on here directly. And ramp up your operation to move stock fast with order turnarounds of a week if your not doing that already.

For newbies, Set up a newbie section with all the questions we answer there so that when they are asked, we can just say please go to the newbie section for those answers.
Have it include sections on whois lookup, email scams, buyer pitfalls(ASIA),
DBA stuff, ebay and paypal basics. I could help with paypal basics as I am pretty well informed on that subject.

In my opinion, there is a little misrep on the sign-up page. SO many people come here thinking they have found the holy grail. SO as fudjj suggested have a quick cancel/refund link. This will not only keep them as fudjj said from badgering everyone about canceling but would also leave them with a less bad taste in their mouth.

Dump suppliers who get even one bonefied rip-off report.
If someone can provide Salehoo with the documentation to prove
a rip-off then that suppliers is gone.

If I have more ideas I post later.

LoL those are not projections but a goal. With the new project we are trying to start on ebay we are really hoping to get a huge amount of sales this year. And these items are so light to ship were going to offer global shipping which should greatly increase sales if these items. But yeah I think the ferrets need a bath haha.

Yes a search feature to be able to search the location of the supplier. eg.. I am in Australia and it would be great to search for Australian based companies...

Hi lg_qld,

Thank you for your suggestion. I'll pass this along to the senior staff and admin.

In the mean time, you can further narrow your searches by using the 'Sort by Country' option. You can do this by ticking the drop down box 'Sort by Country' and choose the country from which you want to view suppliers from. Although the available countries will vary and depend on the suppliers that list in our directory.

***You'll find this drop down box on the upper right corner, below the red search tab.

Cheers! :)

I have another suggestion.

If you find a good post.. that you just want to be notified when there is a post you can't.

The only way I see at the moment to follow a post is to reply with the checkbox to be notified of reply.

Can there be an option to "Notify me when a reply is posted" without haven't to post to the thread.
Cheers
