Somebody tell me I didn't waste $67.50

Somebody tell me I didn't waste $67.50

Postby vbeachsalesco » 08/07/2009 04:05

I have been checking out the supplier prices on this site for some time now and I haven't found one yet that I would call wholesale. I have been in my own retail and manufacturing business for over 25 years now and I pretty much know what some things cost and believe me I have seen cheaper prices at Wal-Mart then some of the suppliers on this site. Some suppliers I checked out wanted me to pay to see their price list. Ridiculous!!!!! A wholesaler makes his money on his goods not his price list! if anybody out there can give me one legitimate wholesale company I would greatly appreciate it.

If you would like to forward some specifics of the products you are looking for to the girls in customer service, I'm sure they will do their best to find you some leads.

** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members**

Of course having been in business as you have, you would know not to take any listed price at face value, as a wholesale supplier would be unable to give you a firm price until they knew the volume you were buying in.

Even then there can be some wiggle room with a lot of suppliers for those that drive a hard bargain.

I'm sure if you are prepared to purchase in the same volume that
Wal-Mart does, then you would definitely be able to negotiate a Wal-Mart price from any genuine supplier.

You make a very valid point regarding wholesalers making their money of products, not on price lists, and it's something that I suggest no one do, pay for a price list!

Good luck with it.

Cheers

I hear you....I joined 2 days ago and Ihave also been in retail for a long time. The advertisements to get you to join, clearly show very cheap wholesale prices of which you expect (nce joined)to see across the board of wholesalers, dropshippers etc...I see cheaper retail prices advertised on ebay than I do on this site!! Then I ask, "where do they get their stock from"? Definately not from these suppliers. I also notice that the site refers to getting new suppliers from other sources like magazines. Thants not what I expected to pay for. I am asking for my money back.

I'm finding it quite difficult to believe that anyone can have retail experience, and then not understand a thing about how a wholesale market works!

What sort of retail experience are we talking about here?

I have to ask because when we usually see people drawing the comparison of ebay prices to some listed supplier prices, it usually indicates absolutely no retail experience at all, so I'm a little perplexed........

If your interested in adding to this retail experience of yours, then I suggest you've come to a pretty good place. If however you are happy with your level of retail experience, but complete lack of wholesale knowledge, perhaps a refund may well be the best option for you.

Cheers

I joined, heck I don't even remember when. I can't even remember if I got any of my wholesalers off this site. But what I do know the knowledge and community is PRICELESS! Who cares about the 67.50. If you have been in the retail business so long (longer than this site has been running), then why did you join anyway. The info and people are well worth the $.

Good Luck

Ummm, I think you guys are getting away from the point of this whole site though....WHOLESALE prices on name brand products...
The only defense you have for multiple people saying they cant find wholesale prices on a website devoted to that is by stating "the forum and people here are worth the $67.50? I mean, you guys might be great...BUT YOUR NOT THE REASON WERE HERE< were here for LOW PRICES....?

You are going to have to clarify what you mean by wholesale prices on brand name products, as there are plenty of suppliers listed in that field. What you will struggle to find is brand name products BELOW wholesale prices to sell on ebay!

This fact seems to be missed by so many people, but ebay is not a retail marketplace, it's a WHOLESALE marketplace, and therefore the prices reflected there are usually already set at wholesale, or even below in many cases.

That being the case, it's virtually impossible to find a wholesaler that can provide you with prices that you can compete with, unless you are in a position to buy in large volume.

Don't confuse the two, there are plenty of suppliers listed that offer genuine wholesale prices, but wholesale prices are not good to you if you are selling in a wholesale marketplace.

If you have a regular store or market stall or alike, then wholesale will suit perfectly because they are retail outlets, and you can therefore make your mark-up.

My experience has been on eBay that many products are either at, just below or just above wholesale.

One way to succeed at eBay is to become a legitimate retailer and order direct from the manufacturer, then as part of your business sell stuff on eBay.

That is just one way. Another that Fuddj suggests is to sell liquidated stock.

Another very good way is to find niches. Meaning, something that not a lot of people are selling or a way to sell something better.

And another is to dropship. Which has the main pitfall of finding items at a low enough price.

Right now, using internet only, I haven't seen a better place to get pricing to sell than right here. You probably wont find better pricing on the internet.

The only better source would be to get yourself on mailing lists and getting yourself invited to trade shows and making contacts from there. You will have to shake a lot of hands and have some cash.

Another option is to take a trip to Asia and make contacts with businesses there. The problem with that is of course the language barrier so you will have to find a good escort(Not the bad kind.) to translate for you. Though you may find some contacts that speak English.

I am a newbie in importing from China. I can definitely say that just the knowledge and support from this forum and the support staff at salehoo.com are invaluable.

Have you ever hired a business consultant? They charge $200 to $300 per hour. I know because I have done it.

So,learn as much as you can from the forums. I have been reading them 8 hours a day for the last 3 days and feel blessed that such a resource exists.

I wish you all the best.

Yes, reading through the forums will really enlighten you a lot and provide you with the needed knowledge to start you off with your online investments.

I started with almost zero knowledge and after months of going through the forum and doing my own research on the side, I could say that I now have a better grasp of what we are all in.

Other than the membership fee the only thing you'll need to spend would be TIME! And I'm sure all this will be worth your while =D

From us here at support, we assure you guys we will do our best to address every question posted promptly and correctly.

All the best! Cheers :)

I'm happy I joined SaleHoo. I like to find out who the scammers are wholesale wise on here and the stories are hilarious but I still felt sorry for those poor investors trying to make something out there money besides buying useless things. I made my money back using a wholesaler SaleHoo posted but I did my research. It had it's good and it's bad at times (because of users on the otherside on the wholesaler end) but I made more back from 60 something dollars I invested in SaleHoo. I mean investing a little 60 something dollars for like $600 a week puts smile on my face. Suprisingly! I found a hole in the Ebay market before the other users on there did and the success was great. But my run soon cooled down once everyone started selling my specific product. I had fun while it lasted watching the auction clock tick down while the bids had risen.

So to my fellow SaleHoo members Cheers and let's sell and make money like SEARS!
