I have found Handbag pallets. I have sold a few pallets to buyers.I sold a split pallet to 2 members of salehoo. But I have got mixed results from one buyer on the pallet. He said he made more money of the Guess handbags then any of the others high end designer names he thought would make more. He said the guess handbags sold close to their retail value.. But he did make a small profit. Nothing to boast about.

Only thing is he split the pallet with another member so that member may have had more of the guess handbags then him. I only split the load by the price stickers we saw on the bags not the acuall handbags. There was a large amount of guess handbags on the whole pallet.

I really dont know what to say about the Macys handbag pallets until I get feedback from a member that has bought a full pallet.

Steve I have purchased half a pallet of handbags for a little over $1600 and I can share my experiences with you.

My experience with the handbag pallet was kind of positive and I will explain why. First off the pallet itself is set at 20% retail as opposed to 10% for many of the other pallets. It doesn't take much math to figure out to make it worth buying over the other pallets you should selling items at at least 10% higher than the other pallets to make it worth it. As for my sales, I am up a couple hundred dollars with a couple handbags left to sell. Now with a $1600 plus investment and making only a couple hundred dollars in profit isn't a very good ROI especially when you consider the many hours I have put into cleaning the handbags, sometimes repairing them if possible, research and listing. Now I will explain how I only made a coupe hundred and not more:

1: as stated before the 20% of retail is high, when factoring in ebay fees and paypal fees..you have to sell these at a decent profit margin to even hope to make decent money, at 10% it would probably be a different story.

2. Damage is detrimental to the bags value. Unlike other products Jimmy sells that are still working even with cosmetic damage..handbags are usually all about the cosmetic appearance so a stained or unrepairable damaged handbags will not sell no matter what the retail price. (I couldn't sell a popular $200 lucky brand handbag for even 99 cents because it was so stained..and that really hurts your margin because you basically paid $40 for it)

3. How well the handbags sell depend upon the brand...not the retail value. Unfortunately because the handbag market is all brand recognition...your dollar value of sale does not usually correspond to the retail value. For example..Guess is a popular handbag on Ebay..and it isn't because they are priced high (usually around 95$) I had one Guess handbag that I sold for nearly $80 DAMAGED (zipper was missing) and it was $95 retail. Awesome sale you might say..and it was. These types of sales unfortuantely were off set by high retail bags of little known designers who sold for a very low dollar amount. For example..a new with tags Franco Sarto bag retailed at $120 but after 3 re-lists I could only get 20$ for it...not so good. If you compare that with the Guess bag that went damaged for near retail...you can really see the volatility the brand name can bring.

So all in all..although I profited there are probably better products of Jimmys to spend your money on. I will probably be trying a new category soon. Probably the only way I would buy another pallet of handbags would be if the retail percentage matched that of the other pallets (10% which isn't likely) or there was a way to filter out some of the brands that are high in retail but do not sell as well. (jimmy was checking into that for me but there haven't been many handbag pallets available)

Oh also one more thing. As for where I sold these, I used Ebay (majority of sales took place here) Amazon (couple sales), craigslist (2 sales) and to family and friends (about 4-5 sales). Also I am very experienced with amazon and I am a Ebay powerseller who has bought and sold on Ebay for 7 years so my lack of profit more than likely was not a result of inexperience selling online.

Well thanks everyone for reading that short novel..please feel free to ask me questions and I will stop back in an answer anything you need to know. Also please leave comments if some of Jimmys products have been working out well for you..I need to move to some new products.

Tim,

Thank you very much for your feedback! I really appreciate it. Ebay is definitely way to sell for handbags. I do not want to mess with cleaning purses. You are right and purses are all about the cosmetic look. Women want these to be perfect. I will stick with the outlets for my purses. Thanks again!

Has anyone bought designer purses from Liquidation.com? or any other liquidation? What was the experience like and what was the profit margin? Thanks in advance!

Liquidation.com is a very popular spot to purchase from, but always read the manifest carefully, and even then you can get caught out. Liquidation.com has independent sellers on there moving their stock, and you have to ask yourself why are they using a site like that as a method of disposal, when profits could be higher through other avenues.

What people do is buy in large volume, then they do what is called Cherry Pick. This means they go through the stock purchase, remove the high value items for resale, and then liquidate the lesser value items to create cash flow. What tends to happen on sites like Liquidation.com is smaller resellers are attracted to the lots because they can't afford the big investment for the bulk purchase, and choose the cheaper option.

End result, the seller gets their money back, plus some in most cases with the liquidated stock, while still having all the good stuff to resell and maximise their profit, while the auction winner ends up with a cheap purchase of the not so good stuff, and can then struggle to make a small profit.

It's a simple equation, to make the most profit, you need to buy the biggest load, because that is where the volume discounts are. The smaller the load, you have to be ultra careful of not getting stuck with a Cherry Picked purchase, or no matter how much you paid for it, you could do your rear end.

I'm not saying everything on Liquidation.com is like that, but people seem to forget you are not just dealing with one company here, your are dealing with many resellers, and some may have better quality products than others.

The other point to remember is that companies liquidate stock for all sorts of reasons. Slow moving, customer returns, damaged, over stocked, gone out of business. When you buy from a liquidator, they usually won't just sell you a clean pallet of stock from a business that has closed the doors. They will mix the pallet with stock that has been sourced from across the board, or they would be left selling pallets of complete junk.

About the only time you will ever really be able to buy 100% clean stock is from the actual companies liquidation auction when they close down, before it makes its way to any liquidation company, and is watered down for resale.
NOW YOU CAN TRADE IN LIQUIDATED STOCK IN THE USA, NO MATTER WHAT COUNTRY YOU LIVE IN!

NO SHIPPING CHARGES, NO CUSTOMS FEES, NO PAPER WORK, NO EFFORT, NO HASSLE!

Hi Wendy,
I live close to a large designer outlet and I want you to know that there are tricks to getting great deals at the outlet. 1. Sales are very seasonal: at my outlet I never find great sales during high traffic season ie. spring break, before Christmas, summer vacation. The best sales are after the tourist are gone and the stores have to get rid of all the left over stock to make room for the new stock for the next tourist season. (ask sales clerks and management about off season times and when you can catch the best sales). When you find that you are the only one in the store, you will know that it's going to be a great day for a great deal. 2. Most stores and even the outlet itself offer unadvertised coupons: at our outlet management office I can purchase a $3 book with over 100 coupons in it for all of the stores, each coupon is different, for example: Off 5th (Saks 5th Ave Outlet) has a additional 20% off one item coupon (includes sales items), Dooney & Bourke has a free gift (wallet), with a purchase of $250 or more. Also check the outlet website for unadvertised sales, most stores offer special sale days and additional discounts for seniors and military 10-20%, but the clerks won't tell you about these sales, you have to ask for your discounts. 3. Also most stores have a customer reward program that you can sign up for (ask the store clerk to put you on their mailing list for coupons and sales), ie. Osh Kosh sends me by mail and email coupons for an additional 20-30% off my entire purchase almost weekly and Off 5th sends me 25-50% off my entire purchase almost weekly by mail and email. The more I use the coupons (they take my phone number each time I use the coupon), the better the deals get - when I shop frequently I get the higher value coupons. Off 5th sells Prada, Coach and Dooney and Bourke frequently at deeply discounted amounts. I once purchased a Couch purse for $44 that I had seen that same day at the Coach Outlet store on sale for $125 (Retail $425). I used the purse for a year and then I sold it on ebay for $95. I wear Chloe sunglasses and I only paid $12 at Off 5th, purchased off season of course. 4. Always check your receipt because quite often there will be a coupon printed at the bottom that you can use on your next shopping trip. Make sure you make note of the expiry date so you don't miss out. 5. Lastly, ask a friendly clerk if they know of any available coupons or discounts that are available - they can be very informative but only if you ask - they don't seem to give out any information unless you ask.

Happy Shopping,
Cynamon
