I've been looking at eBay auctions for Oakley sunglasses and eyeglasses for awhile now and indeed, they are offering them at really low prices. I believe these are closeouts or liquidated goods. Did you notice that these very same sellers also have listings for Oakley store displays with some feather-like scratches?

I suggest you check out liquidation.com, viatrading.com and other liquidators. You can find some more by doing a search in the directory.

It is very easy to fake sunglasses and many people aren't very discerning. So if it looks real then it is. Really, many people just aren't very observant.

I would say that 80 out of a hundred people wouldn't tell the difference or care or take the time to look.

The reason I say this is a trick on eBay is to buy great fakes and sell them just low enough to get people to buy them but not to low to prick peoples ears.

Heck, eBay almost ruined Swiss watches from Asian copiers. Many experts had a hard time telling the difference from good Asian knock-offs.

So Swiss had to license dealers and limit sales on eBay.

This is why most manufacturers specially those of high end brands only sell through authorized dealers. The fact that there are a lot of fakes being sold on eBay and the fear of their products being devalued led them to implement strict terms with their distribution.
