I noticed the other day that eBay have recently introduced blogging to the community.

My first question was – can they be used as an effective promotion tool?
The main goal of any seller is to think of ways to enhance the attention that their products get above those of others. In saying that, I don’t recommend you do what lots of eBayers have done so far: start your blog with a vague: ‘Hey there, I’m not sure what a blog is, but I’m giving it a go, so, yeah…’!
In my opinion, the only way to make blogs work as a promotional tool is to provide valuable information. I’m much more likely to go back to a seller who has a blog full of enthusiasm for their product along with interesting tidbits of information rather than a seller who doesn’t blog at all.
The only problem with eBay blogs is that they must be kept strictly on eBay.
