I've historically found Thursday and Sunday evenings to be my hot times, and that's across a pretty broad array of niches over the years I've been using eBay. I set most of my auctions to end around 10pm US Eastern time on one or the other of those days.

I found this cool tool in Auction Bytes way before and it will predict whether a certain day of the week is a good day to start or end an auction.

You find this helpful in deciding when to start your auctions and how long they should last.

Cheers! :)

I agree with your observations. :) Fridays and Saturdays are not so active days for me, in spite being the start of the weekend, and I assume it's because people are off unwinding somewhere than being online. Sunday is good, where most go back and chill at home (and shop online), preparing for the next working day. :)

Also, another thing you might want to take into consideration is the time you will end your auction when there is a holiday, especially long weekend holidays - You might want to end it on a Monday instead of a Sunday as many buyers love to shop online during their leisure or free time :)

I agree, fm1234

Sunday and Thursdays are always best for me... and I believe we probably sell on the same local marketplace :)

It's really no surprise to me that Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are slow for some sellers: They are slow days for a lot of businesses, epsicially ones who deal direct with consumers.

Restaurants, movie theaters and brick and mortar retail stores all see a slow down on these days. Most of them overcome the slow down by having specials on those days.

Who hasn't bought a cheap pizza or movie ticket on a Tuesday? They are certainly popular where I live!

Perhaps you could think about doing something similar.
