Welcome to our community, irshjon :) Nice having you with us!

I strongly recommend downloading your copy of SaleHoo's New User Manual to help you start on the right foot :) To download your copy please go to Link hidden: Login to view and scroll down the page, I think the guide is the 6th on down.

I'm not sure if you have actually added a domain name to your store or let alone accessed it. If you haven't done both kindly go to your Members Home(page) > Products > SaleHoo Stores.

You will need to "create" your store, but before you can do that it will ask for a domain name. You will notice this message in bold letters -

"Before you can activate your store you need to purchase a domain name. This will be the URL your customers use to visit your store. Getting a domain name is easy and cheap, but if you aren’t sure what to do, read our tips and recommendations.

A short, unique domain name that reflect your business is best.
Getting a common domain extension - like “.com”, or “.co.uk” - is preferable .
We recommend NameCheap for buying your domain name - if you don't have one already."

You can choose to buy your domain name from NameCheap or from any service of your choice. Once done then you go back to the said store creation page and fill in your domain name.

Once you complete the first step you will then need to configure your domain to point to our nameservers. The first thing that you need to do is to contact your registrar (NameCheap?) and request that the domain be pointed to -

NameServer 1: ns1.doubledotmedia.com
NameServer 2: ns2.doubledotmedia.com

In most cases, the registrar offers an option to change the name server directly via the members account with them ( for example, in GoDaddy, you just have to logon to your GoDaddy account and change the name servers from there).

How do you find a niche? I'm sure everyone would love to know! Personally it all boils down to research. Research plus lots of reading are both keys to find an elusive niche. A good tool to help you make it a lot easier and fun is our very own SaleHoo Research Lab. A great way to find niche markets and hot products to sell is by selling stuff from around your home.

There are two excellent reasons for starting out in this way:

(1) Feedback is hugely important for any eBay seller. With a feedback rating below 10, it is going to be difficult to get people to take you seriously. The first 100 sales are the hardest as buyers look for high feedback as reassurance that they can trust the seller. Generally, the higher your feedback, the better - with powerseller status being the ultimate goal.

(2) You get to sell a range of products and see what works well. The results may surprise you!

Nothing beats knowledge gained from experience and selling stuff from around the home is the best way to get it without any risk.

After some practice with goods from around the home, I recommend buying small wholesale lots of products that most people use on a daily basis.

Many of these products are excellent sellers, plus they are fairly easy to get hold of. A lot of new sellers make the mistake of trying to be all things to all people. In fact, it is far better to target a specific market, e.g. ‘back to school’.

Some ideas:

* Clothing: accessories, plus sizes, maternity, night wear.
* Kitchen: recipes, knife sets, toasters, microwaves
* Beauty: sunscreen, insect repellent, cosmetic & toiletry bags, men's grooming
* Homewares: towels, sheets, rugs, throws, cushions, vases, mirrors
* Special occasion: wedding supplies, party supplies, mother-of-the bride outfits, bridal shoes, birthday cards
* Garden : lawn mowers, gardening tool sets, composter

Hobbies and Interests

One of the big reasons why people use eBay is to find unique items that they cannot find elsewhere. Before online auctions, collectors were limited by geography. The internet has enabled hundreds of communities to form around shared interests and this provides tons of niches to target. A quick browse of eBay's community groups will give you some ideas. There are groups as diverse as knitting, stay-at-home moms, business, hiking, gluten-free support group, vegans, travel, children's theatre, dieting, parenting, re-enactors, crochet, stamp collecting, pet care - the list goes on.

Remember that many of these hobbyists will also need components. For example, you may decide to sell embroidery threads, tools and patterns and how-to books; car parts; fabrics and trimmings.
