Hi everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself. I have just started my own business and i am being helped with coaching and tools through a company out of the U.S. called 'Thrive'. I don't know much about them though they seem to know what they are talking about. Has anyone else here dealt with them or know of them? Just curious on that point as I have already paid my dues and so if they are fly-by-night then it is already too late. That being said, they have hooked me up with Doba for my U.S. sales and then I went looking for a Canadian dropship alternative and found this site. I am looking forward to using this site and look forward to learning the ropes of my new E-commerce business and getting to know you fine folks that utilize this site. Anyway, that is my speech for today. Feel free to drop me a line.

Hi Z, never heard of them myself, but if the best they can do is hook you up with Doba, then I have to say that I'm unimpressed!

Hope they didn't get you for too much cash!

Informative little community we have here so feel free to post any inquiries, or you can always PM me and I'll do my best to answer them for you.

Cheers

Thanks for the reply. Thrive does more than that they also provide tools and coaching to help build your business and they are committed to helping me to regain my 12k investment. There success is based on how great of a testimony they can get out of me. So the quicker i make money the better the testimony.

WHOOOOOOO!

I hope I'm not reading that right, you didn't actually pay them the 12k, I mean I assume that has gone on some sort of business infrastructure : )

If they were charging 12k, then their success would be assured with a few clients, forget about the testimony lol

As for making money, all I can say that if Doba was their premium supplier, then you will seriously struggle to make back 12,000, no matter how many tools they provide, or what advice they support you with.

You know, I'm struggling with that 12k figure, maybe you are just having a joke with us, but I can't mesh together how someone could spend 12k, and then still be looking at a drop shipper to make money from.......what am I missing here?

Perhaps you could tell us a little more about what you have paid them and what they are going to do to get you a return on your investment, cause I have to say that I am a little worried with what you have written so far : (

The company I paid is using the money for training me to launch my E-commerce business. In a nutshell they provide coaching and contacts to get started in an e-commerce business. The idea is that they give me the tools to sell on e-bay and get me started in my own website where i can then sell products from there. I have noticed from their website that they are a part of the BBB and are in good standing. I don't believe they are stealing my money (well i hope not) but let me tell you that by spending that kind of money motivates one to do this business at least to get their money back.
Here is a list of the things that they listed as part of the program that i purchased.
unlimited consulting-10weeks
processing fee
business tookit
100 directory submissions
lightwave builder
marketing package
product sourcing directory
shipping
thrive combined webinars ebay and marketing
thrive research software

I admit that i am not sure what each of these items cost but i will have to see if I can get a breakdown of these costs. Unfortunately if I get cold feet now I wouldn't get my money back so I have to push forward. My hope is that the folks here will be able to help me to succeed in this venture with all of your vast collective wisdom.

Sorry, still not quite sure, are you are in fact saying that you have actually paid these guy 12k for this service or how much did you pay?

Can you post a web-link for us to take a look at as well, that would be great.

You can PM me if you like, but I would like to close look at this for you.

Sorry yeah I can understand that being too broad. The website looks like a clone of whitehouse.gov. I just didn't understand why it looked so familiar of a design.

Hi I have been dealing with these Thrive guys quite a bit lately, and they are making a killing off of poor souls like yourself I am sorry to tell you this but everything you paid 12k for you could have got for oh $100.00-$300.00.

Sorry to be so blunt but you fell for it. They are a new group and your the 6th person this year that I have talked with who has sent them in a ton of money.

Since you have not broke the service down let me do it for you.

unlimited consulting-10weeks--- Qand A you get that free here.

processing fee -------------- Not sure about this one, but pay pal is free to set up on your website already.

business tookit----------- Free stuff
100 directory submissions $5.00
lightwave builder -----------------Link hidden: Login to view

marketing package ---------$30.00
product sourcing directory----------- Must not be too good or you would not be here.

shipping-------------------How can they give you shipping ?

thrive combined webinars ebay and marketing
thrive research software

The bottom two I have not seen but you can get that software to 'search the market' for real cheap and 90% of it is useless anyway.

So your break down is well $35.00 If you had a website built it would be a little more than $300.00 If I remember correctly these guys don't even build you a website. You have to build it yourself ?

Your right they cloned whitehouse.gov to make their website seem more important . It is actually a brilliant marketing scheme, as most people have been to whitehouse.gov/ but you never really pay attention to the details. Then they come over to this site and for some reason it feels safer than others , brilliant.

ouch... for 12K they would have to fly me where ever it is and show me. you couldve gone into real estate for that, my lake lot didnt cost 12K. maybe its bigger than it sounds but it doesnt really sound good. hope something works out for you though.

Good digging Jason, been trying to find the time to take a closer look at these guys myself.

I knew something something was wrong from the very start of this thread. Kept trying to get my head around 12,000, and what that could be spent on when choosing a drop shipping option, but once the member made it clear that is what they took and then supplied him with DOBA...........I knew he had unfortunately been taken for one massive ride.

OMG, I've seen plenty of scams and shams, but not sure I have ever seen anything quite on the scale of what these guys are getting away with!

I can't even work out the formula they have used to price their (services). It's like they just sat down, threw a figure around and decided that they would have a chance at getting a few in to clean up!

I'm completely stunned, I really am, no offence Z, I know your are inexperienced, but this is a good lesson for every new inexperienced member.

WOW!!

These guys are a part of Doba they are out of Utah 1 and the same . Ever heard of the Utah Mafia ? That is where Doba and all these places come from nothing but scams and garbage coming from these segregated breeding camps, basically all these scam sites from there feed their cults and supply their supreme leaders with money.

Sounds crazy huh ? Read this .

Their are 23000 more links that apply to this but basically in a nutshell do not do online business with anyone from Utah unless you personally investigate the company, and know what your getting into.

I am sorry Bigz but you have been taken for a big ride. They are a fly by night however if you paid with a credit card you can file a charge back, and re coop your money IF you are lucky. These guys and Doba are the same and Doba is a scam. I hate to disappoint you, but go to Google and type in DOBA SCAM, and see the results for yourself.

It would be a huge joke if this poor member, along with several others hadn't given these creeps a dime, but unfortunately they are going to loose serious money.

Well there is some food for thought. thanks everyone for your thoughts on this. I guess I will have to talk to Thrive about what I have learned and see if they are willing to refund but according to some of the talk that may not be possible. I guess because all of the money paid to them went through my credit card I could talk to my credit card company about a refund of this amount but would I not have to prove to them that this organization is a scam? Thoughts on this?

I can only give you my opinion, but they should be shot at dawn for even thinking of charging anyone what they have to provide what they call a service.

IT may not be a scam to the letter of the law, but it is a SHAM!

1st Class rip-off!

I would make contact with them regarding a refund, sound them out although I can imagine them not being happy about coughing it up. If they do grumble, just mention that you will have to lodge a complaint with the BBB, as they are a participating member.

No luck, go straight to your card issuer and have them bounce that sucker, honestly..........those idiots won't be telling you anything you won't learn in here from us idiots....and we're a lot nicer, plus we'll save you $12,000

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that we can guarantee you will succeed, but at least we won't take your cash and lie to your face in saying we can like they do : )

Hi all you have to do is provide your credit card company with all the links that I posted for you of the other people they have ripped off and they will give you back your money.

It is not a scam, but it is a con. They use these fast talking salesmen to lure unexperienced people in. I have seen this quite a few times this year from these guys so don't feel bad your not the only one.

I can guarantee you this if you do get your money back we can show you the real way to invest it and do a million times better than you ever would have with Doba wow I feel bad to be the one who had to tell you.

At least you took it well I had one guy get really mad at me when I told him he could get all that stuff for about 100.00 and I had a woman with 3 kids no husband ect ect. Anyway she came to me looking for products she had just spent her entire life savings on this, and they promised to build her a website and 'it was going to put her kids through college ' She actually gave up her summer vacation to Disney land with her kids for this crap.

They had this poor single lady who had saved every penny believing this crap and Doba would make her rich, and they played off the fact that she likes to talk about her kids, and used it to their advantage.

I would say Bigz your probably the only one here who can imagine how distraught this lady was after they refused to build her website, and then they basically quit returning her calls after she asked for a refund.

This is the main reason I know so much about it as I spent a couple weeks helping her to try and fight these horrible horrible people.

According to my credit card company I would have to supply proof that these guys are overcharging. that is I have to have proof of a lower cost from these guys versus what i paid. Would anyone have an old receipt or know of anyone that worked with these guys but were charged much less and have the receipt to proof it? I don't know if my credit card company would accept info from others that experienced a transaction with these guys and lived to tell about it

I think your going about this wrong as people do charge backs everyday. You need to explain to them that you were scammed and also show proof that you were not the only one.

Yeah, chances are everyone has been ripped off the same amount, so I would doubt if that type of proof exists.

As what Jason has said above, you need to convey to them that you were mislead by their advertising in what they were going to provide you for 12,000.

For example, paying that sum of money and then be given a name like Doba as a supplier, when you can get that information here, with over $11,900 in change.

Don't try and approach a charge back based on them being a scam, just on them misleading you on just how valuable their worthless service actually is.

Jason (jg42122) has quite a decent background on these guys, and may well be able to provide supporting documantation for your claim.

Doba was just one of the suppliers they mentioned as a possibility. They didn't say I had to go with them. As far as they are concerned I could go with salehoo and they wouldn't care. They have left that up to me. It was just that Doba looked so easy to use. I am finding that their pricing is way off however and they also don't ship to Canada so that is what led me here. However as my other post mentions i am looking for a supplier in this site for the product I want to sell and I haven't found any yet that fit the bill. As for the credit card company i will ask them about what jason has been sharing.

i got a call from them before i signed onto salehoo. dont know how they got my # but i was checking out a lot of stuff online at the time so im sure it wasn't difficult. the person who called me was very convincing, i told him i didnt have any money right now i was doing some research for some investments i wanted to make in the near future. he told me that he 'wasnt suppose to tell people this but, you would need 3 or 4 grand to really get started doing anything serious' he left me his # to call back when i was ready. he never said how much the cost of their program was but if he told me to call back when i have 3 or 4 grand i doubt he would have charged me 12k. i think they just try to get as much as they can from you

Your exactly right Jake!! They have a new scam already built basically what these guys are is one huge call center for Doba, Thrive, and now their newest addition Link hidden: Login to view

They have 100s of underage employees who are home schooled they train and use these kids to build all of this stuff, and their leaders take all the money. The shipper is a Salehoo clone basically. We have to stop these guys.

I am going to put together a huge post and it will probably have some of the same info as here and really do some digging over the weekend.

Trust me it will be good. As I am really mad about this as well. They threatened to sue me yesterday BIG mistake. My sister is an atty, but it was over advertising. I want to really see what I can find out and I have a ton of contacts so I am really going to put some effort into it.

Hey thanks for all the great info folks I really appreciate it. I was looking at the BBB and they have resolved all of their issues and I suppose they would have to in order to keep their rating which means that they are willing to deal with people to get the issues resolved. I really can't say anything bad about these guys so far as they have been more than helpful with my training thus far as long as I am proactive in getting the help that I need. The biggest concern for me still remains is just the cost of their program but I did get a breakdown of the costs for each of the items they charge for and from I see the biggest charge is the 10weeks of coaching and the webinars. I guess seeing as I have given them my money I will have to see this through and I am sure everything will work out fine. As for this site I am still waiting on a response to my other topic that seems to be getting nowhere??

Hi BigZ, very little doubt that they are legit, but trust me when I tell you that you are paying an absolute premium for the information you will be learning, but...that's your choice!

Knowledge is gold in this industry, but you are paying WAY above the rate of gold on the current exchange market.....if you get my meaning : )

Unsure about what other thread you are referring to, but if you can jog my memory, I'll take a quick look and see if there is anything I can contribute that may be of help : )

ive never searched for a canadian dropshipper for myself but i have followed the posts for them just for reference and there either aren't that many or people havent gotten to your post yet. i think i read where you are in the States like I am and was just curious why you would need a canadian dropshipper specifically. usually a dropshipper will ship anywhere you want regardless of where they actually are making canadian shipping and handling comparable to anyones shipping and handling. not trying to pick you apart, just trying to understand. holla!

Sorry for the delay in answer Voodoo but i live in Canada and the suppliers i have been finding for my product don't ship out of the states as they don't like to mess with the border and all. I am looking to see if I can find a company here that can supply the product I am looking for.

Have you considered a US mail/package forwarding service BigZ, that would give you a US address and perhaps solve that issue.

Actually it is funny you should mention that. i was approached by the tax club and they are setting up a business name for me down there. Again though they have charged big bucks for their service as well. I was thinking of cancelling with them though i doubt they will give back the money I have paid them as I haven't been able to finish paying them as yet. You know I just don't learn my lesson. As soon as someone comes along with a great idea i jump all over it
