Is scam adviser a good tool to find out if a website is a scam or fraud?
Website URL: Link hidden: Login to view

I have been using scam adviser for months now and every time I'm about to purchase something. I use scam adviser to help me out.
I always thought this tool worked until today. I put in salehoo.com in the scamadviser search bar and the review did not look to good.

If scam adviser is not a legit website, what other websites can I use instead. I hate spending a whole day trying to check if something is a scam.

Interesting result for SaleHoo lol, we'll get in contact with them and see why on earth that rating has been given. I really don't know how they grade their ratings to be honest, but looking at our own, then I suspect it's not based on good reliable information.

I usually just enter the URL and type scam after it for a Google search. That will usually bring up all sorts of reviews for you to take into consideration. Better Business Bureau is always good to check with, as well as a whois check through someone like Link hidden: Login to view

Of course if they're in our directory, then no issues at all :)

I prefer to look at other people's experiences, rather than just use something like Scam Advisor. That way I can work out if the compliant is valid or if the person is just venting without any serious cause and then I can make my judgement based on that. Just remember, bad news travels fast, good news rarely travels at all. Meaning that no one can ever wait to spray bad news around about something, but if they are happy with something, that will hardly ever get a mention. So no matter what company you research, the chances are that you will always find far more bad reviews then good ones. The secret is that you just have to learn to balance all of them to make anything from them all.

Link hidden: Login to view is an awesome tool to gather domain information regarding a website.

BBB and Scam Advisor is generally okay, but it is something I would not consider absolute or solid info to gauge whether I would liaise with a particular company or not. Blog reviews and social media commentary is a much more reliable source of feedback, companies who actually care would comment back on issues that truly need to be addressed, or would have an explanation for a particularly unpleasant review or comment.

Scam Adviser is a thinly veiled scam itself. It's one of the best examples of "hide in plain sight". I have had problems with Scam Advisor for quite some time. When I did a search of my domain, the results are just plain inaccurate. Their stats say things about my website that are just plain false. And these seems to be no way to contact them to get it fixed.

My personal problem with Better Business Bureau is they are a private company, not a government entity and companies can pay $ to get better ratings. Or at least that was how it was when i delt with them a few years back. Be careful who you trust to help you with your decisions.
