This is a great tool and is very good guide for products to sell. One thing perhaps you could work on is making its searches a bit more specific. I think at the moment it has a US bias. If it could be made to search a persons home country e-bay site would be good and perhaps more accurate for particular items

But its good so far

I think it is not good enough because everytime I use it, the result will be 75% potential for selling this product. But when I click more research, it shows that the market is poor because there is a few people searching this product from internet. It is bias.

I think Marketing Research Wizard from Worldwidebrand is much better.

Thanks,
Joe

Hi there, thanks for the feed back. The current levels of potential will be adjusted once we have enough data in our database.

We will then be able to see lowest, highest and average levels and will update levels to suit :-)

Any other comments just let me know.

Hello

I think it should be more detailed & specific. The results are too general & the potential is always around 70% which doesn't make sense in accordance to the demand.

I think what you should add up to it is a Supplier section where people could find the suppliers( dropshipers, wholesalers liquidators, etc) right on the spot.

I am new to selling and am still in the product research phase. I have been trading on eBay since 2001. I have tried both Terapeak and this tool, but have not tried Hammertap, because it does not work on a Mac. Your tool gave me a heads up of 75% on a particular product idea, recommending a possible market niche. I have researched it more specifically and I'm not sure I agree. There are a number of Powersellers & others selling this specific product, and I'm not sure I can compete. I do have virtual PC on my Mac & will probably try HammerTap, just to compare. I'm open-minded because I am still learning. I definitely like the idea and what this tool is trying to accomplish. Each of the tools is a bit different in both what it is researching and the time frame that it is investigating.
The other issue I have is that this specific product is not available from any of the SaleHoo suppliers. So I am not sure where to go next. I haven't been able to find this product at any of the other suppliers recommended by your site or other sites that I have visited. It will definitely take some investigation, if this turns out to be a lucrative path. Do you have any suggestions on where else to look?
Thanks

It would be handy to have the search results shown on the history page.

The product reaserch tool is a great Idea but it lacks functionality.I often get 75% back as a result no matter what the search and find that when I look at Adverts they are often for products non related to my search.
Also on the Demand pages we get results for UK, US, Canada and Austrailia.
I know it''s difficult to gather all info but there are many more marketplaces out there, why don't we get feedback on them?

Keep improving and you could be onto a winner eventually but it's a way off right now.

I also get 75% for most of the research on there. Waiting for your data to pile up before it can give meaningful results.

I would like to know what people thought of Terapeak and hummertap. Also feedback on ebays market research subscriptions. Are they worth it?

Cheers,

Uili

The Product research tool is...Incomplete.

Why does it only offer eBay competition? What about Amazon or Overstock.com. Google Base should be included. I noticed Yahoo Store results were missing. Plus include results from lesser selling sites such as Neoloch.

I absolutely love it!! It's amazing how changing one word in you search can give you completely different percentages. (apparel 55% vs. dresses 65%). I use this feature very often.- Jean

If you want an even higher percentage, try entering donkey poo. I bet it gives you a high percentage, but that does mean you will do well with donkey poo sales on ebay, I'm seriously doubting it!

Sorry, useless tool and it is only going to give people misleading data.

I reckons it's a brilliant tool! It tells you so much you need to know. But just one thing I would beg of is to make the interface a bit easier or to be able to categorise eBay, Yahoo, Google etc. as I'm having trouble finding whats on demand on yahoo. Though I agree that before it goes out of beta it really should have other online markets on it not just ebay as ebay isen't the only one. I would really like Amazon and things like it to be added aswell. But so far I thing it has the potential to be great. Because even in beta right now I'n loving it. But for the last week or so for some reason it keeps giving me 75% most of the time so it's probably just a small bug that needs fixing as the research lab progresses.

Thanks.

I've put at least a dozen different items in the search field and everyone of them has had a 75% rating. I don't think it's rubbish; but I think it needs work yet to be a real valuable tool. Keep working on it man!

Burn the damn thing before it causes some inexperienced and unsuspecting member to loose money by investing in the wrong product, because they put their faith in what is nothing more than a gimick with a flash name!

Members pay money to you guys with the expectation of being protected from this sort of garbage, not to be led head first into it!

It scares the hell out of me that 9 users rate this thing as good or better, and I am willing to bet that everyone one of them are inexperienced, because no one in this industry with any experience and COMMON SENSE behind them would recommend such a flawed way of gathering research, such as using a tool like this.

If you are going to provide research, then provide real research and cut out the circus tricks, leave them for the thousands of sham sites that thrive on this sort of garbage!
