The following is a quote from ebay
Starting this week, the display of multiple identical items from the same seller will be limited to one in Search results. An item is considered identical if it has the same title and the same listing format, and the listing chosen for display will be determined by the sort option that the buyer chooses.

I had 10 listing of the same item, finishing within a 10 hour span. Upon doing a search, I found that only one was showing up. I called ebay and they explained to me that this is their new system and when the shown item gets a bid, another would show up. I thought to myself that the more time my items are not seen the more likely that they would not be sold.

The solution: I changed the title of 9 of the items making sure to keep the most important keywords. Low and behold all 10 of my items are now showing on the first page.

So, if you have multiple listing of the same item and you want all to show up in a search, make sure they all have different titles.

eg Listing #1 New Water Bottle
Listing #2 New Water Bottle **WOW**

It also works if you differ the starting price. I tried it by listing items with a 1 cent difference in the starting price and all showed up with minutes of each other. Have fun people.

Holy crap. What a bunch of idiots eBay has become. What happened to fair competition. What does eBay want to do totally run everyone trying to make a few extra dollars? Now the small time sellers are no longer welcome? Didn't they build eBay? Thans for the info Allan. I'll keep that in mind the next time I list something.

Actually its a preventative measure to keep spammers from filling up ebay with useless information posts. When people list 50 to 100 of the same thing that nobody is going to bid on, the people that have only a few min left or 1 min left on their auctions wont get any visibility of their item because of the spammers duplicate listings.

This is actually a good change as it will allow many to be able to generate some extra final bids on their items.

Maybe so, but all I can say is that my sales has risen since I employed this strategy. Look, the basic thing is that if no one sees your items, they would not be sold. Maybe they should implement that in certain categories. In the high end categories where people are sure to get their items sold, listing been unseen means listing unsold.

This type of tactics also reduces your exposure to the 'busy shopper'. What about the person who searches the 'new listed category'. You have listed your items a few hours ago so you would be seen by these shoppers. Not seen....No sale......No money. we are in this business to make money not to feel sorry for the guy who need a few extra bids.

Ok Jimmy......I am not disputing this Best Match policy because mine is showing up well too. The problem is when you have multiple listing of the same item. For high volume sellers, this just won't work. Ebay themselves has recommended that high volume sellers use 1 day listing as opposed to 3 days because with 1 dayers, your viewing capacity for the week is much greater than the 3 day listing, where only 10 would be seen every 3 days.
