How do I change my domain name?

As a SaleHoo Store owner, you have the option to use your own domain name (such as www.yourstorename.com) or keep it hosted with the SaleHoo Stores default URL (http://yourstorename.salehoostores.com).

If you want to use your own domain name, here's how:

The first thing that you need to do is to contact your registrar (this is who you purchased your domain from. Most SaleHoo Stores users use NameCheap.com or GoDaddy.com) and request that the domain be pointed to:

Name server 1: ns1.doubledotmedia.com

Name server 2: ns2.doubledotmedia.com

In most cases, the registrar offers an option to change the name server directly via the members account with them (for example, you just have to login to your GoDaddy account and change the name servers from there).

To do this, you need to login to your domain registrar account and change the settings under your current nameservers.

For example if your registrar is GoDaddy, log in to your account from www.godaddy.com.

From the menu select Domains > My Domain Names, then select your domain and on the right you'll see "Nameservers Summary" (near the bottom).

There's a "click here to see details or to modify". Click that and then replace the existing nameservers with our ones above.

Now to add your registered domain to your SaleHoo Store, login to your store's Admin settings and go to Settings >> Store Settings >> click on +Edit Address under Website Address.

This will lead you another page to Change your Store Address. Once there, tick on My own domain and type-in your registered domain (i.e. janedoestore.com) at the Website text box. Please note that you need to withdraw "www" when typing in your registered domain.

When finished, click on Rename to go back to Store Settings menu. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Save to save changes.

Important: Note that it takes approximately 72 hours for your new domain to be activated on your SaleHoo Stores. When you visit your new domain within this time period, the page may normally show a "Page Cannot be Displayed" error or it routes you to your hosting server's homepage while still on the processing stage.
