How can I check that my affiliate link is working?
I'm having problems with my Clickbank account/getting payment.

How can I check that my affiliate link is working?

First of all, check the html code in your affiliate link. The code should follow the following format: http://www.salehoo.com/?aff=ENTERID (replace ENTERID with your own Clickbank Id)

If you are sending traffic to another page, for example the 'secrets' page, your link will still track if you end it in '?aff=ENTERID, so for the secrets page, this would be:

http://www.salehoo.com/secrets/?aff=ENTERID

You can use our hoplink generator tool and scroll down to the yellow box – here you can generate a link to a specific landing page or product sales page.

Secondly, you can check you link is working by clicking on it, and then following through like you are going to purchase the product, clicking on "Click here to join SaleHoo", putting in any name and email information, and then "Contine to ClickBank Secure Payment Form". At the bottom of the payment form, it should say [affiliate = ENTERID]. If it doesn't, contact us and we'll take a look.

I'm having problems with my Clickbank account/getting payment.

You have to contact Clickbank directly with anything to do with your Clickbank account. You can check out their customer support page here.

Yes. SaleHoo uses an automatic redirect which sends people to the page you have selected but removes the '?aff=' part from the url to make it look cleaner. Don't worry, your referrals are still being tracked. If you're unsure, check your affiliate link by using the methods outline in the first question.

Can you add my Google Tracking Code?

Yes! You simply need to paste your entire tracking code into a .txt document and attach it to an email to partners@salehoo.com We will put it up on the site as soon as possible.

Some of the affiliate material in the affiliates section seems a bit out of date, what's happening there?

We are aware of this, and we're working all the time to update all the material. SaleHoo is getting a complete overhaul later this year, and when that happens we will be redoing ALL of the affiliate material.

If I send someone to you via my affiliate link, but that person then leaves SaleHoo and comes back and buys it at a later date or comes back via one of the Newsletter links, do I still get commission on the sale?

Yes! When someone clicks on your affiliate link, Clickbank installs a cookie on their browser which lasts for 60 days. This means that if they purchase a SaleHoo membership within 60 days of first clicking on your link, you will get commission on the sale. The only way this won't happen is if the person deletes all their cookies, which some people do for privacy reasons.

Do you have any landing pages that don't have the newsletter signup pop-up?

No. All our landing pages have the newsletter pop up. We have done extensive A-B testing on this and have found that this works better. By using an email capture tactic like this, we can create a way to contact people later down the road who were unsure when they first looked at the site. And remember, these follow up sales still give your commission if they buy within 60 days.

The video tour has other affiliates Google Ads on it, how can I get rid of these?

When we first posted the video of Revver, they did not put any ads on their videos. We realise this is a bit of a problem, and will revisit the way we do videos when we relaunch the site. Until then, we have added a downloadable AVI of the video. You can use this directly on your own site, or upload it to another video hosting service for use on your site.

I'm new to affiliate marketing, have you got any advice?

We love to help our affiliates as much as we can, however we simply don't have the time to teach everyone how to do affiliate marketing one-on-one. We recommend that you check out Affilorama which offers FREE video and written lessons on getting started with affilaite marketing as well as a great forum for all your questions. We think this is a really great resources of affiliate marketers at all levels of experience. Never hesitate to send us an email if you're not sure about something! How do I do Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

This is similar to the question we get from affiliate marketing newbies. SEO is a really expansive topic with lots of information to be covered. We suggest you first check out Affilorama and have a look at their great intoductory articles on SEO.

Then, you should check out SEOMoz which is a specialist SEO consultancy firm that offers heaps of FREE lessons and advice! We at SaleHoo often use their advice in our own SEO practices.

Finally, there are lots of great and FREE SEO tools out there. We use Traffic Travis, which you can download for free. It includes an on-page SEO critic, which analyses your webpage and tells you everything you need to do to get an A+ grade for a certain keyword. It also has a keyword generator which is really useful; the free version produces 200 keywords at a time!
