The best advice is that if it is a branded cellphone, then don't touch it. You run the risk of the transaction being a scam for starters, and even if the seller is legit, you will be buying a replica, no matter what they tell you.Marc Ransom

I want to choose carefully the cell phones I want to sell to minimize these problems.

I can only repeat my earlier warning really, there is no safe way sourcing branded anything from China, especially consumer electronics.Marc Ransom

Hi ozgunner, you're welome, its nice to be part of a community that looks after one another. We're in Australia and things are a little bit more difficult here (supply wise). We don't have the wonderful array of suppliers that show up in the USA and UK. We also need to be mindful of the exchange rate. China deals pretty well 100% with international markets in US currency which is fine if you live and trade from the US, however currency conversions can kill your profits and a couple of points drop in the A$ can really hurt. Can be a dangerous game
First of all, welcome to SaleHoo! We're sorry to hear it - we do hope you have bounced back from that $20,000 loss. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We appreciate your advice. I'm sure our members will find it very useful.
Let us know if there is anything we can do for you. All the best!

Just to that exchange rate for other Aus members who are interested, all current indicators are that the Aus dollar will keep increasing against the Greenback, and some are suggesting it could hit as high as $1.05 at the end of the first quarter next year.Marc Ransom

Yes fudjj, I am saving my pennies and keeping an eye on the exchange rate When it hits 95 cents I will move to replenish my stocks for the Christmas shopping frenzy. On another note, people should not tar all Chinese suppliers with the same brush. I have dealt successfully with Chinese suppliers who are gracious and honest, so they are not all charlatans. As with any dealings, you need to do your homework and actually speak to the supplier (most have skype phone) before you actually go ahead and send your hard earned dollars. (Some of you know that my hard earned dollars were lost to an incompetent American). The shopping centre in my suburb of Melbourne is 90% Chinese owned businesses and they are the nicest and most hard working of people to deal with.Difficult I can do right away. Impossible takes a little longer

I have dealt with link hidden over the last two yrs and had only one glitch, which was resolved quickly. The products I received were Generic and of good quality, very comparable to name brands. Hope this helps.

Concerning the dealextreme site, I've dealt with them many times personally. I still have a case for my ipod that I bought from them for a dollar, and it even has free shipping! Personally, you could buy in bulk, but keep in mind that the stuff you do buy aren't branded, but cheap yet reliable knock-offs. I plan on using them again myself for the bargain prices.

I only buy if they accept paypal, first buy something cheap for yourself and see how fast you get it, make sure it includes free shipping and pay with paypal, sometimes they say they accept paypal but then when you checkout they ask for wire transfer, stay cleat of wire transfers, I lost $700 doing that. I buy from chinavasion and have never had a problem.
