    eCrater.com - a great eBay alternative

Tired of ebay ripping you off and taking all your profit well...i recently found this new website (ecrater.com) the other day threw another forum, its like ebay but a little different theres no listing fee's, no fees if your item sells... So you stay with all your profit, and theres already quiet alot of people who use ecrater.com now since there tired of getting ripped of by ebay!! I really suggest people start selling on ecrater.com if you want to make money and not give it all away.

Yes ecrater hs been one of the better performers against ebay for some time now, not in the same league for traffic of course, but who is!

Bonanzle is another free listing platform, and while I haven't seen any flow charts on traffic lately, it was really on the way up a few months back, and I would imagine it would still be growing, so well worth a look.

Yes, I agree with fudjj there. eBay is still in the lead when we talk about site traffic. It's clearly shown in the chart on powersellersellersunite.com where eBay takes the lead followed by eBid, Bonanzle and eCrater :

But then again, Bonanzle has grown and quite rapidly, imagine in a span of just 1 year they now have 100K members. They have an average of 10,000 members joining every month, and on September 13, Bonanzle scored 1,000,000 unique monthly visitors for the first time. Currently Bonanzle offers about 2.3 million items.

    Hi dilimited,

eCrater currently has around 2,334,715 lisitings. You can compare the listings per site through the link in my first post.

For more on eCrater, here's a SaleHoo blog post that you may find helpful, please have a read:

Also here's a post, where you'll find a few SaleHoo member's who are also selling on eCrater. http://www.salehoo.com/forum/selling-online/any-sucess-with-ecrater-com-t7514.html Maybe they can help fill you in.

I would suggest you visit the eCrater and Bonanzle sites to see for yourself.

    Good Luck! Cheers :)

I've been having a look at ioffer , and really liked the fact that it imports all of your Ebay feedback and Auctions , however it won't find my Ebay auctions , only my feedback . Anyone know how to get this to work , I think it be that it looks at Ebay.com and not Ebay.com.au .
Does Ecrater and bonanzle have this feature ?

It doesn't really say if it can import or cannot import from ebay.com.au. But I would suggest that you try to contact their customer service so they can assist you with this.

I tried checking eCrater but I was unaable to see anything that indicated that they support such a feature on their site.

Although you can do it on Bonanzle, they support the transfer/import of both your feedback and listings for eBay as well as Craigslist. To learn more about this please visit the links below:

Yes, bonanzle is a very nice place to do business. You can interact with your customers in real time unlike ecrater. There are also lots of helpful sellers there who are always willingly ready to help when you need some advice or technical expertise on selling or on bonanzle itself.

    Good luck.

    Hi AlliGdigital,

I would suggest that you try to contact Bonanzle's support team and let them know about this issue, so they can work on it. As well as help you out with the process.

    Cheers :)

    Hi,

I currently sell on EBAY. Would it be a bad idea so sell on all 3 sites? Bonanzle, ecrater & EBAY?

Not at all. The key point to remember is that the internet is in constant flux. You need to work hard to keep tabs on current trends to make maximum profit. If eCrater is doing well, sell on eCrater. If you find a niche on eBay, sell on eBay. It's not uncommon for sellers to sell on 3 or 4 different sites, this way they get the benefit of numerous audiences.

    Re: eCrater.com - a great eBay alternative

I always suggest that if the platform has no up front listing fees, then what have you got to loose by choosing multiple advertising streams. Increasing you sales volume is all about getting maximum market exposure for your products, and while ebay can offer you a massive volume of traffic, it doesn't offer you 100% of the traffic, that is something you have to actively chase.

As Satya has said, you may also find different levels of success with some products on different platforms, but that's what market saturation from a marketing perspective is all about, covering as many bases as you can to increase sales across the board.
