This is a question we see quite a lot, and the answer is quite simple. As with eBay, you will find a lot of different sellers on these very popular platform. Everyone from small mum and dad sellers, right through to big business sellers.Marc Ransom

Always keep in mind the profit of the customer is not always on the first order. Often many internet sellers sell on AMAZON or EBAY at a loss to get the customer relationship started and the profit is often generated over the life cycle of the supplier and customer relationship in repeat sales or upsells of warranties and or complementing productslink hidden

Joe makes a very good point that I think is lost on a lot of new sellers. Many volume sellers make little to no profit on new customers; the profits come in ancillary sales, upsells, and in customer retention.
