Hi linzee,

There are 3 types of Paypal accounts:
Personal, Premier, and Business.

Personal accounts are obviously, for the personal use of individuals. They can accept a maximum of five (5) credit or debit card funded payments each year and are assessed with a transaction fee. Other payments received will not be charged a fee.

Premier accounts are for those members who have a high transaction volume, and would like to have access to Paypal’s Core and Premium features. Premier accounts are allowed to operate under individual names. Unlike Personal Accounts, premier account holders can accept an unlimited number of debit or credit card payments.

Business accounts are defined for businesses. This will allow them to operate under a group name or a company. It will also enable them to accept payment from buyers without PayPal accounts. Business accounts can also accept an unlimited number of debit and credit card payments, like the Premier account.

For both Premier and Business account, all of your receiving transaction will be charged a fee. If you're running a business and need to use Paypal in receiving payments, a Business or Premier account is absolutely necessary because they allow you unlimited number of times to receive credit card or debit card payments.

For detailed info, you may visit Paypal -

And to answer your question, yes, especially if you have a high volume transaction, you can easily apply for a Premier Paypal merchant account. :)

Hope this helps! :)

Hi linzee,

You can use PayPal's merchant accounts on your site to accept debit card, credit card and bank account payments.

You choose to either start with a PayPal Website Payments Standard - your customers can shop on your website and pay on PayPal. This is a quick and easy way to start accepting credit cards online. A simple integration into your website allows your customers to pay securely and easily. Your customers don't even need a PayPal account to make a payment. Or

PayPal Website Payments Pro - your customers shop and pay on your website. This solution contains features comparable to merchant accounts and gateways, at a low monthly cost. Customers paying by credit card stay on your website for the entire transaction; PayPal is invisible. For those customers who prefer to pay with PayPal, give them the option to pay quickly and conveniently through their account.

You will be required to submit a Social Security number or federal tax I.D. number and sales data (e.g. average monthly volume), to learn more about this option please visit this link:

Hope this helps. :) If you need further assistance please feel free to contact us.

All the best!

I have a merchant acct. If my customers want to pay with their credit card & not paypal, which button do they click on to finish the sale? There is no button that says "pay by credit card".
thanks,

Hi debzdarlinz,

If you are referring to your SaleHoo Stores, sorry but at this point there is option on how to add a merchant account. Although our developers have acknowledged the request and are looking into it.

You can accept credit card payments via PayPal only.

But please feel free to vote for the suggestion in our feedback forum - Link hidden: Login to view

All the best!
