on liquidation.com do you really have to have a business to buy from them and are there any other you can point me to to buy things on liquidation
No, anyone can buy from Liquidation.com, you don't have to be a registered business. The thing with Liquidation.com is that they aren't really a liquidator themselves, what they do is provide a selling avenue for others to liquidate their own stock through.
What you can often find on liquidation.com is that big sellers actually buy in truckloads of merchandise from a genuine liquidator at a very low cost per unit, then break that truckload down into small carton sized lots (with a healthy mark-up), then sell of through Liquidation.com
Of course just because the products have a good mark-up doesn't automatically mean they are too expensive, it's just that when you buy surplus by the truckload, you get a pretty decent discount on your stock.
That allows people to break the loads down, drop their margin on top, and still make it a viable purchase for smaller sellers.
Of course all the sellers aren't doing that, it is just an example of how some use the site.
There is plenty of info about Liquidation.com on our forums, just use the forum search tool and you'll find all the info there, but the key points to be aware of is that you are dealing with independent sellers, so you need to research each seller you are interested in individually.
The other trapdoor that does catch a few out is the shipping charges that Liquidation.com charge, they can be absolutely extreme in some cases, and take a good bargain buy to an expensive nightmare if you haven't got them factored into the purchase before you bid.
As for liquidators themselves, yes the US is full of them. What sort of items are of most interest to you?
