My advice, save yourself the frustration of trying to find something that you can dropship, and actually make any profit on that the market has not all ready been saturated with.
I'm assuming here that you are looking at ebay as your selling point, and $40.00 doesn't buy much stock of anything.
I would be using the $40.00 to fuel up the car and hit some markets, some garage sales, and maybe even an auction or two to see what you have available. They are all excellent sources of inexpensive second hand, and some new items perfect for ebay.
With second hand, you will make more margin, in fact much more margin than any drop shipped product you will be able to find.
Don't just buy anything, try and keep it smaller to ship, giving you a bigger ebay market to sell too, and go hard to get the price down. Remember the people have it for sale because they want it gone, so use that to your advantage and go in under their asking price, working your way up if you have too.
I know it means actually leaving the PC for a while, and a lot of members here hate that idea, preferring to sit at the keyboard and whine about not being able to find a good supplier instead of doing something constructive about getting started, but you might find that you even enjoy the thrill of the hunt.
Happy hunting!
