I have recently noticed the amount of complete idiots on ebay has increased. And am starting to feel it in my feedbacks.
Ive had 3 negs in the last month and probably one more on the way.
I had one I completely screwed up on in December. I thought I had already shipped the persons order but I had not. Mostly because I had 3 identical units. Thats ok my bad I deserved it.
One lady I offered a better unit because the one she won was not in stock. Probably an accidental relist. She asked me a ton of stupid questions regarding the better machine. And then asked me to call her. I called her multiple times and she never answered and I left my callback number twice. She called the wrong number. She was off a single digit. Then blames me and leaves me a neg. I got a 5 letter word that id like to call her.
Another where A guy claims his blender is Used, I sold the item as New because it was new. He sends me pictures of this filthy unit right. Well he made a boo boo. He sends me a picture of the bottom of the unit that has the model plaque on it. I take pictures of a unit and when I do electronic items I also take pictures of the Model number and serial plaque. And we photocopy that and write the item number on the picture. And stick it in a folder.
The model numbers don't match. Hes trying to rip me off and trade his old unit for my new one and get me to refund his payment for it. I contact powerseller support and they even tell me not to refund this guy. But unfortunately I may have to suffer a negative feedback. Thanks ebay.
Then this week I get a lady that bought a very expensive Dyson. Won the item for $360.00
Now she contacts me about 4 days after she received the item and states there is stress damage to the units Head assembly. I do find this odd because I disassemble every dyson unit and clean them completely just to make them look brand new. I never saw this damage but I think Ok maybe it was damaged in shipping. I offer to have the unit picked up by fedex at my cost and I would refund her payment once fedex picked up and inspected the damage.
She goes off and ships the unit to me herself then quickly demands I refund her payment before this unit arrives at the warehouse. So I tell her the agreement was that I arrange the pickup so fedex can inspect the unit. For all I know she shipped me a box full of tree branches. Well anyways shes messaging me multiple times a day demanding her refund so she can buy another dyson right away. Claimed shes been looking for a dyson for 4 months. Yeah right.
Anyways shes also opened a dispute and is spewing garbage and threats the whole time in the dispute. The unit shows up at the warehouse on Wednesday. I open the box and pull the dyson out.
Yes there is a stress fracture on the unit just as she mentioned. Then I look a little closer and see that the handle is completely Broken off the unit. The placeholder where the handle mounts has a large piece missing.
The handle itself reverses into a wand. Kind of like holding a gun. Well the handle is in the wand position and Locked/Jammed.
I flip the unit upside down and see Hairs/Fibers attached to the brushes. I open up the canister and look at the filter. 5 round dirt marks and a huge clump of womans hair inside the filter trap. Meaning the unit has been used.
So What it looks like to me is either this vacuum was manhandled accidentally or They did it intentionally. But either way the damage was not caused by shipping at all.
I prefer to make problems go away on ebay and just refund the money. I know I can file a damage claim and fedex would pay me right away without a second though because I do a ton of business with them.
Now I contact powerseller support and tell them of my findings and ask for their opinion. I told them I was willing to just refund the money and file a Damage claim. The support person Said 'NO, dont refund her. Contact trust and safety and tell them of your findings. Dont refund her unless trust and safety gives you the go ahead.' So I emailed trust and saftey and I am waiting on their decision.
Now during this wait she has messaged me twice on the dispute panel and of course tries to build strength to her cause. I wonder if she knows shes under investigation for Fraud?
Anyways whatever ebay wants me to do I will do. But if this lady leaves me a neg and I have to sit on it. Im going to reply to her neg stating.
Buyer reported for Fraud~ Look at Auction number 123456789 for details.
And Im going to put the damaged unit up for sale describing the damage to the machine in detail and stating that unit was destroyed by a previous buyer. Ill sell it as base for spare parts.
If ebay doesn't like it they can remove the neg. I'm not eating more negs because of ebays Advice. If they want to give advice what to do then they should remove the negs we get stuck with following their instructions.
Is it just me or has all the crap come out of the woodworks this year? The dumb and the dumber of ebay buyers.
What would you do in this situation? And have you had any recent problems with ebay buyers?
