How to sell medical equipment on eBay (expensive systems)?

Great week everybodyand I hope you enjoyed your weekend :)

Once again, I need help and this time it's regarding expensive medical equipment systems on eBay which i know nothing about it.

1.Is there any special process for buying/selling expensive equipment like MRI, CT etc?

2.How does the transaction of MRI or CT systems complete successfully?

*Does the seller reveals his info on the listing?

*Does the buyer and seller exchange details and perform this in an offline transaction?

*Does the listing requires to complete the listing online (so it will get it's fee) and how does eBay makes sure that there will be no offline transactions that will the final value fee of eBay?

*Is there any special fees table for medical equipments?

3.Is there any policy or extra info for medical equipment transactions on eBay?

Yes, eBay requires that the seller mentions his name, city, state, and telephone number. As well as his business name, if applicable

Also, all listings should include the following text:

The sale of this item may be subject to regulation by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and state and local regulatory agencies. If so, do not bid on this item unless you are an authorized purchaser. If the item is subject to FDA regulation, I will verify your status as an authorized purchaser of this item before shipping of the item.

*Does the buyer and seller exchange details and perform this in an offline transaction ?

Since the listing is posted on eBay, like most any transactions it should be done on eBay.

*Does the listing requires to complete the listing online (so it will get it's fee) and how does eBay makes sure that there will be no offline transactions that will the final value fee of eBay?

I'm not sure how eBay will ensure that no offline transaction occur but eBay encourages all transactions to be done on-site. And I guess since this type of transaction will deal with a large sum of money, it would be best to take advantage of the buyer protection offered on eBay.

*is there any special fees table for med equipment ?

I was unable to find any info on a different set of fees for medical supplies, so it might be safe to say that the same fees apply.

3. Is there any policy or extra info for medical equipment transactions on eBay?

I do understand that eBay encourages people to complete the transaction online but sometimes people will prefer to complete the deal not online in order to bypass eBay's fees and save money.

My question are :

1.How can eBay know whether the listing was completed or not, i mean does the buyer or seller are required to inform eBay if they made a successful business?

2.How does eBay prevents bypass it's fees?

Just to verify,I'm not looking to bypass eBay's fees it is very important to me to see how they enforce these kind of transactions where it's easy to close deal offline between the buyer and the seller and lose eBay fees?

There is, strictly speaking, no way for eBay to know if a seller is closing transactions offline. Some sellers and buyers slip up and openly discuss the idea via the eBay messaging system, which is idiotic, and some buyers will report sellers who offer discounts for closing outside of eBay, but aside from that (or setting up a sting operation, which I've never heard of eBay doing, but which could theoretically happen) there's not really any way for them to police the practice. This is one reason why there's a fee to list on eBay, so that they get at least a nominal payment for the use of their service.

Obviously, if a seller lists expensive items cheaply on an ongoing basis (to get listing fees down) and is always canceling the transactions (because he's closing off-site) then this might get eBay's attention, but such practices are presumably few and far between, or there'd be people griping about having their accounts closed or suspended "unfairly" for doing this.

Frank has given you really good answers to you additional questions. To add -

No, sellers are not required to report if a sale is a success or not. However cancelling a listing prior to its scheduled date would mean as a seller you need to provide eBay with a reason for cancelling your listing.

2.How does eBay prevents bypass it's fees?

eBay can't prevent it, but like Frank said in his post, the fees are there so that at least eBay will get a nominal fee for listing on their site - should the seller choose to cancel since he has an option to complete and close the sale offline or offsite.

Personally, if this were your plan listing and then cancelling them to complete the transaction offsite or elsewhere, it would be more ideal to just open your on site where you can list your more expensive items, yet continue to maintain a number of listings on eBay for traffic to your own site.
