titagleaves I know that I have to pay sales tax on sales in my home state but do I also have to pay sales tax to any sales from my online retail store that come from the other states? Also knowing I will not be able to obtain a merchant account for payment as a first time start start up online retail store, what are your recommendation for some alternative payment gateways that would connect to my website and also recommendations for shopping cart plug ins for my website?
fudjj The sale tax is applicable to your own state, any taxes outside of your state will be applicable to the buyer. Regarding a shopping cart plugin, what website are you using?
titagleaves I'm using WebEasy 10 software to build the webstore. Also should I form an LLC for a just starting webstore or just run it as a sole proprietorship without getting into forming an LLC structure?
fudjj From what I have read about that software, it does have it's own shopping cart interface. Is that correct? Regarding structure, I would suggest Sole Proprietor would be fine, but that's of course ultimately your decision on how best to structure yourself.

And thanks for the info regarding sole proprietorship
fudjj OK, no problems. I don't know much about the software, only what I just quickly read, so I would suggest trying it's e-commerce application and seeing if it does the job you need it to. If it doesn't, then we can see what other plug in options there are for that software. Cheers
