I used to be in that market myself years ago with a partner and we were importing ours for the UK. Activision in the UK was a great distributor, but that had a base account establishment fee or 10K per monthly spend minimum. So pretty serious money to outlay, but that secured you some very good pricing.
The biggest competition for Australia was coming from Hong Kong sellers, it was prices from Hong Kong that finally squeezed us at out the new release market. We hung in on the second hand market for a while, but just didn't generate the cashflow to make the effort worth while, so we folded. Not sure if Hong Kong sellers are still dominating the market here now, but I would suggest if they are, then Hong Kong would be the place to look for distribution opportunities.
