PPWDG Product question

I just received a 1/2 pallet of housewares from jimmy last night. There were 16 items total and only a couple were listed as damaged....which is pretty good. I got a couple of sharper image air purifiers, a few martha stewart items, a juicer, a blender, and a few others.

I'm wondering what the difference is between the regular housewares pallet and a premium housewares pallet and if it's worth the extra money.

Also, do these items really sell well on ebay?

And...what is the best way to ship heavy things? Some of these items are between 12-18 lbs and are quite large.

The difference betwee the two pallets is item count. Most of the premiums have more small items. Thus the price difference. Personaly I would suggest the lower cost pallet. Larger items sell higher then small items in my opinion and I dont really see a difference between the 2 as far as selling value. I have had many buyers say they have made more money on the regular housewares pallets then the premiums. I wiil probably discontinue the premiums here in the near future

As far as selling items on ebay . yes many items from housewares do very well on ebay but the best thing to do is research the selling values. Find out why some sellers are selling thier higher then others and look at all the descriptions. If the item is not marketable on ebay try other venues including craigslist or hold on to the item if you believe it to sell better during a different season.

Yes those air purifiers were kind of a shock to see on a pallet. I never saw a air purifier on any prior housewares pallet. I hope they sell well. They looked new to me, Maybe a display unit?

Thx again for the info Jimmy. The air purifiers are definately new, I checked them both out last night.

How bout my shipping question. I guess my choices are USPS, FexEx, and UPS. I'm pretty sure USPS will be too expensive for the larger heavier items....but I've never really shipped anything with FedEx or UPS. What's the better option?

I use UPS for all my shipping. They are great in handling large packages. I double box my items though and put corner protections to insure safe arrival to my trading partner's door. I do have discounted rate through UPS because I ship alot of packages and because it's a business I guess... I'm just lucky enough that my brother works at a company that sells computer parts so everytime they get shipments, he put aside the boxes and shipping supplies use to protect those units and he brings it home to me LOL! So free boxes and supplies.... which means, SAVING! =)

I would suggest you do some price quotes to a random zip code to get a feel for what you need to charge all 3 sites you can use to get a quick quote. Check them all and decide on the cheapest. Right now your not high volume enought to get a coorperate account with fedex like me. A 19x19x23 box weighing 50 pounds generally costs me $18-$27 based on location of the recipient.

also for shipping, for heavy items, go with ups ground or fedex home. I believe fedex home is slightly cheaper even more so if you can get past their weekly$ mins for higher discounts.

Yes i agree with pro Home delivery is a nice price. And also I agree that the lower cost housewares pallet is a better way to go. The premium is now removed from the site.

Just a note i will be adding luggage as a new category. I just got a few pallets in last week and I was very impressed with them. Almost all of them were worth $240-$350 and out of I believe 27 of them. Not including the sets that had 5 units inside each other. There were 4 that had any damage to them. These should easily bring $1500 in sales maybe more
