Hi. Can you suggest an alternative to eBay? With ebooks thatvsell onlymfor a few dollars, eBays fees can be between 25% and 50% even with the new listing and final value fees.
It's an interesting equation that you have to add up. High volume platforms like an eBay provide the traffic required to make sales, but take a decent slice of the pie in the process. Smaller alternatives, Bonanza for example, provide a free listing platform and gentle final sales fees, but don't provide the the volume of traffic that an eBay does, so you are targeting a much smaller audience.
Of course that isn't just about ebooks, it's an equation people have to make when using any online platform, other than their own, in regards to which is the best market for them.
My suggestion, if the site offers free listings, has decent final sales fees and you have the time to dedicate to listing, then what do you have to losse from trying them, not even taking the traffic flow into consideartion.
An important thing to remember is that eBay will certainly get you good market exposure for the most part, but you can also gain good market exposure by developing a persence on a lot of the smaller sites as well that orbit around eBay.
