Comments and Feedback on Dropshipper Doba?

Anybody have any feedback or comments on using Doba

I just cancelled my free seven day trial membership with them yesterday. They seem like a pretty kool company. What I LIKED about them was that they had alot of educational tools to help you start your business. I also like how they list their products, with the wholesale price and MSRP price so you kinda get an idea of what kinda profit you could make. What I DIDNT like about them is that they charge such an expensive monthly fee AND everybody and they mama are selling each and every one of those products on ebay, its almost impossible to make a profit because competition is so STEEP! You can decide for yourself though, whether you think Doba is right for you or not. They offer a 7 day free trial so you have nothing to lose. Good luck

I agree fully with what Robfamfirt had to say in his post. There are some nice features to Doba. They have a push to marketplace tool so you can easily push any item in their inventory straight out to an EBay auction under your account, the educational tools are good, and the wholesale/retail listings are nice. They also have a large selection of products. As Robfamfirst said though every item they sell is being sold by other members on EBay and the competition is too steep. Also since Doba is not technically a true wholesaler/dropshipper, but what I have heard referred to as an aggregator you are paying slightly higher than wholesale prices. How can you compete on EBay which is a below wholesale-wholesale market with above wholesale prices? The answer is simple - you can't. Sure you might find a few gems in their invenotry that will yield some small profit from time to time, but it won't be long until joe blow small time seller or newbie comes along and starts selling those items for less than you are through his Doba account. Doba might be a good source for selling on another site, namely your own, but your not going to build a solid online business with Doba selling on EBay. Just my 2 cents.

BTW - if you want to trial Doba for 14 days cancel your subscription form right in the middle of filling it out and you'll get a popup with a 14 day offer. That will give you a little more time if you want to try your hand at listing any of their items.

I do agree with some of the things posted by the previous posters. I have been with Doba now for almost a year and have had some success. It took alot of research and planning to sell the products. Doba is the kind of site that you use if you are not looking to make a killing selling there products. I am talking only as little as $5.00 I have made on some of the sales. But if you play it right you can sell a few products and make a little nest egg. last quarter I was able to make about $550.00 profet durring the holiday season on Doba products. I learned that I had to stay with the products that were in demand and stay with the high ticket items to stay within my cost ratio. To make the above profet I sold around $ 25000.00 worth of high end HDTVS large screen and a bunch of small cutlery items that were for collecting. But I also researched for about two months prior to the holiday buying spree to see what others were selling it for and see what brands and styles were popular. THAT IS THE KEY TO EVERYTHING. RESEARCH AND COMPARE constantly. It can be done as Salehoo says it just takes alot of planning and stratigy as well as some good old fashion advertising to get your product infront of the would be consumer.

Another thing I tried and worked pretty well is made up some business cards and distributed them. Talk up you store and hand them out. I even sent them with my Christmas cards to people and cold sent to potential businesses in my area trying to get people to atleast look at the site. I SELL CUTLERY. Just be sure to think out and layout your store the best you can and it will work even with Doba products saturated the market.

Yes they require you to register a credit card with them when you register. That is how they collect there first month fee. After that you can set up to pay with Pay Pal or use there own account where you can deposit money with them and use it to pay drop ship fees and authorise monthly fees. pay pal will do the same. If you use the products for a website and drop shipping you must also have a state and or federal tax id number. Don't ask me why I cant answer. They never use it. I guess it is just for there insurance purposes or something. I have never had a problem with it. But if you use them for a wholesale outlet they require nothing more then some guaranteed way of payment IE methods mentioned above. Also if you ship to yourself they wave the 2.00 drop ship fee so you don't have to worry about it.
