I stumbled across Worldwidemerchandise.com which is also wwmerch.com. In a nutshell, they are a dropship company that charges $199.00 for lifetime access offering a complete refund after accumulating $1000.00 worth of sales. They offer to build you a website for an additional fee (unknown to me cuz I haven't signed with them) but also offer education about alternative selling methods...mail order, flea market and wholesaling to retailers.

Once signed on they send you catalogs, flyers and mailers complete with your company name along with a CD-ROM of their product line for dropshipping advertising and various training material and offering unlimited business consultation to get you started.

Researching the web, I only found one negative comment about them and it was posted in 2002. I did find various positive comments including a couple stating that the website that they build for you is pretty good.

Other than that I found that as of April, 2007 their suppliers were SMC and BNFUSA. SMC just looks like a bunch of flea market junk so I went to BNFUSA.com and much of their stock looked strangely familiar.

When I noticed that the BNFUSA HQ is in Dallas, Tx I realized why it looked so familiar. They are none other than Simpledistributors.com with a different face. Simpledistributors is located in Florida (I think) but say that their shipping dept. is in Dallas. BNFUSA.com is in Dallas with same zip and same products....same pics, prices and descriptions, blah, blah, blah. They do give a slightly differents 'suggested' retail price.

Anyway, just wanted to share a little research and see if anyone has done business with worldwidemerchandise.com

Eric

Hi Eric,

I actually have done business with Worldwidemerchandise and BNFUSA. Your exactly right they sell a bunch of BS products and they are all the same thing, dropshippers trying to all be the same. I will be very honest with all those trying these companies, you will not make much money selling their products. If you do a search on ebay for these products, it is flooded with the same thing and the turnover rate is very low. trust me folks if your really gonna use a dropshipper, you better do some real strong research if you want to use those products on ebay. I tried for 2 years part time to try and make money off BNFUSA and worldwidemerchandise and failed miserably. I tried almost everything in the book to make my listings stand out and still never made money. Right now I sell liquidations and make a bunch more money and will continue to stay on that path. To me, dropshippers are suitable for those that just want to make some side cash or part time money.

Thanks,

Don

From what I can surmise, the majority of dropship items are not items one would go looking for in the first place. They all seem to be items that you might purchase spontaneously at a flea market but not necessarily things that you are gonna do a real internet search for.

I've said it before....the dropshipping phenomena's popularity rests solely in it's ability to lure uneducated marketers with promises of a quick buck for little or no effort.

You got it right on the mark Eric its just not your everyday item or a popular product that gets the attention of the customer. Especially these days when folks are trying to tighten up their belts and save. I mean those looking to make a few dollars here and there can benefit by finding those niche markets. Overall in my opinion I would stay clear from Worldwidemerchandise and BNFUSA.

You can find quite a few of these same type of products at Link hidden: Login to view . This company doesn't charge the $199.00 but they do tack on a small fee per order which I think is like 2 bucks. As stated before these products are everywhere on eBay so you would have to look elsewhere to sell them.

If you want your own site, I would suggest taking a look at a Zen Cart option, great open source shopping cart. I can hook you up with a programmer state side that can custom fit it if you require.

You may also think about chasing up Jason (jg42122). He is knocking fully integrated cart sites out at the moment, around 350US I think. Pretty switched on with SEO work as well.

He may even have some drop shipping ideas for you, he's pretty switched on in that genre.

As usual, a veritable plethora of good information, fudjj. My biggest problem now is trying to organize it all into a cohesive mass!

All in all I'm really not hip to the dropshipping thing, just curious that I ran across a company that I can't find much negative info about.

I think I'm leaning towards liquidations in the long run. I'm currently looking for something I can purchase within the $500.00 range which is pretty much what I have as an investment.....a small pallet of turn-able goods and actually, I'm leaning more towards physically selling items to begin with.

I don't know how it is elsewhere but here in Texas we have what's called 'First Monday' which is a big 'trade days' or flea market that is every first weekend before the first monday of the month and any weekend of the month you can find something somewhere going on. Traders Village is open 365 days a year and is nothing but a big flea market.

I do a lot of ebay junk but I enjoy the hands-on approach to selling very much. If I can figure that out, then I'll look more into internet sales and sites.

Hi Erich,

I've just dropped a post in the thread above in response to your thoughts on the liquidation market.

I think you're selling opportunities sound excellent, having that kind of platform allows you to be proactive, and chase the market, not wait for the market to come to you.

The fact that you also enjoy the one on one contact of selling is a HUGE bonus. It's hard to place a value on that, but I'm sure those that do sell like that know how valuable it is to their success.

Take a read of the other post, and feel free to PM me should you need any insight in the liquidation market at all....will be happy to advise however I can

cheers
