Big name companies with popular brand names to protect usually restrict the distribution of their products to stores that would help define the image of that product. If they have their own chain of retail stores, then expect not to find their products anywhere else. This protects not only their brand name but also their bottom line because they get to dictate the prices at which their products could be sold.
According to the Abercrombie & Fitch website, the only way to purchase their products is through their namesake stores or online stores. I know this could be disheartening at this point, but the fun of being an entrepreneur is the knowledge that you could change your mind (and strategy) at any given time. :-)
