Enroute $297.97 dropship fee?

Tried to join EnRoute today. But was sent to a page requiring a $297.97 fee for dropshipping. Is it worth it? Is this normal? I've read great reviews about them. And they have products I want to sell.

Hi Patrick,

It's certainly not unusual these days to see an account establishment fee or similar from suppliers. Not all of them have it, but many do. Enroute is of course a fully verified member of our trusted directory, so no issues in dealing with them at all. If it's worth paying the fee, well I'm afraid I am not a customer so I really can't speak to what sort of value you get for the money.

I don't mind paying the fee. I just didn't remember reading it anywhere on here. So wanted to make sure I wasn't paying for something I didn't have to. I also put an email into them. Should hear back by tomorrow.

I spoken with those guys before about that. That is the price if you want to become a 1st Tier reseller. Second tier resellers don't have to pay that price. 1st Tier get special privileges that 2nd Tiers do not (like customer service is supposed to be better, quicker responses, better prices, better drop shipping). They could improve the website quite a bit to reflect this but, that's just my humble opinion.

We actually have several number of members also send us an email about this and a small bit of clarity on their end would be very helpful.
Personally, I read through your site and a huge push for everyone was actually a no charge for dropshipping. When you think about it, it's a great deal of help for the fee that you are asking for them to pay at this point.

It looks like Enroute Global is changing some of their business practices. I am so glad they showed how they conduct business before I signed up.

If you are a "Valued" tier one customer who paid a one time reseller cost I don't think your going to feel quite so "valued" as they hoped.

Dear Valued Reseller:

As I write to you this evening, I am torn with our wholesale, liquidation and bulk roadmap for the future. We have grown leaps and bounds, and in the last few years our large-scale wholesale and liquidation capabilities have been very fruitful for our organization. As a result, our liquidation and bulk product solutions will move front and center in our global delivery vision and capabilities.

Effective in the 4th Quarter of 2014, there are certain terms and conditions that may affect you.

Reseller Programs: For many years now, there has been our Tier 1 and Tier 2 Reseller statuses. Beginning 1st October 2014, there will be a single EnRoute Global Reseller status.
Reseller Program Cost: Prior to 1st October 2014, there was a one-time Tier 1 Reseller cost of USD$297.97. Beginning 1st October 2014, the EnRoute Global Reseller Program cost will be an annual cost of USD$497.97. NOTE: Existing Tier 1 Resellers will be required to pay USD$497.97 on or before 1st January 2015, but will be credited USD$297.97.
Reseller Data Feed Access: Prior to 1st October 2014, EnRoute Global offered daily data feeds to Tier 1 Resellers. Beginning 1st October 2014, EnRoute Global data feed will be available to new Resellers four times annually (in quarterly releases). The EnRoute Global data feed will be available under our annual content license agreement and the Reseller must prepay in advance for the annual subscription. The cost per product category is USD$4,500.00. If a Reseller is desirous of purchasing three or more product categories, please ask for special pricing.
Minimum Orders: Prior to 1st October 2014, there were no minimum orders at EnRoute Global Exchange; however, beginning 1st October 2014, there will be a per minimum order of USD$5,000.00. To honor our authorized and approved Tier 1 and Tier 2 Resellers, the USD$5,000.00 per minimum order will take effect on 1st November 2014.
Drop Shipping Fee: Prior to 1st October 2014, there were no drop shipping fees. Moving forward, there will be zero drop shipping fees.

We will be updating our various websites and supplier platforms such as SaleHoo with these details shortly, but wanted to inform our Resellers first.

We have enjoyed the journey over the last 21 years; we look forward to partnership with you in our wholesale and bulk focus for many years to come!

I got the same notice. Unfortunately I am a new member. I spent a huge amount of time dealing with them. I paid $100 for a data feed. And have spent untold hundreds on my freelancers uploading their products to our website. Only to find out that at the end of the month they will require a $5000 minimum order and a $500 yearly fee just to sell their products.

To say I feel misled, over sold and ripped off - is an understatement. I should have known better when they tried to up sell me on all their Tier 1 and Teir 2 programs. That ran $500 without even seeing all the products they had to offer.

It is unfortunate and I empathize with you. Being a relatively new SaleHoo member myself and the fact they were in the database, I was considering doing business with them.

I understand your feelings of being misled and ripped off with the changes they have made and it's what prompted me to post here in case there were others considering doing business with this company.

Even if the new policies are designed to favor larger clients or obviously trim smaller ones, I would be very wary of this company now that I see the way they do business whether I was a large or small business owner.

I also paid one time fee with them, i am not going to pay $497.97 a year. Have send them an email and told them i no longer wan't be a customer at Enroute Global.

I understand everyone is at the height of their frustration and this is indeed something that is beyond our control.
We have worked with Enroute for some time now and they have always been a reliable supplier and I am sure they still are.

Thank you Rachel for reaching out to us. As we have based on business on integrity, let us try to address the comments posted hereto:

1. EnRoute Global has had and continues to have a stellar reputation after 21 years in business; we have been a highly rated Salehoo supplier for two years.

2. We have condensed our Tier 1 and Tier 2 Reseller Programs and in support of our bulk model, we have increased our minimum purchase amount.

3. The previous Tier 1 fee of USD$297.97 has increased and moving to an annual renewal model; however, after receiving feedback and having dialogue with many of our Resellers, we will honor existing Tier 1 Resellers for lifetime. In essence, they are not required to renew annually.

4. To the gentleman who had the data feed comments... Our staff spent an equal amount of time working with you to confirm the manufacturers that you were interested in, I personally made it very clear to you that you could stay as a Tier 2 Reseller forever. We have never pushed Tier 1 on any prospective Reseller; rather, we informed you on the Tier 1 benefits.

5. Our new policies favor our shift in business model; it was not direct to trim smaller companies. Our reputation speaks for itself in the reviews that been posted on Salehoo. Our latest policy change has invoked many frustrations; we understand this, but we would ask that the Salehoo community keeps comments factual.

My colleague - Vince will be forwarding a modified policy early next week communicating that current Tier 1 Resellers are grandfathered in for lifetime.
