Hi folks!

Ok, so now I'm here, logged into my new account at SaleHoo and full of will to succeed and hopefully get into this dropshipping thing. I'm a total newbie, and do not know ANYTHING about how this works. So the question is: Where do I go now? Should I build a web store now, or should I contact dropshippers first? Do i have to have a finished store on eBay before i start with dropshipping there? Where do I start?

Best regards

Raymond.
Have a nice day folks, and thanks in advance for answering this topic, I guess there are a lot of people wondering about this. ;-)

Welcome to SaleHoo, Raymond :)

Personally, I feel knowing what to sell and finding a suitable supplier should be considered first along with all the other aspects of your market research before starting a store. That way you know how to set-up your store and can select a domain name that is appropriate for the market you intend to sell in.

Any products you have in mind? We would be more than happy to help you search for suitable dropshippers.

Cheers!

Thank you for your answer Richelle!
I'm thinking about starting out with guitar strings and accessories like parts and guitar picks and all of that stuff. I'm a guitarplayer myself so I thinks it's a good idea to start with something that I know something about. Later on I'd like to expand indo guitar effect pedals and maybe also into amplifiers and all of the equipment guitarist's need. I'd also look into instruments like drums and drumsticks etc.

But I don't know where to start from here...

Have a nice day!

Hi Raymond,
I'm brand new also, I am being very careful to crawl before I walk, LOTS of research and I know Salehoo staff will help us out. I bought some items REAL cheap and put 10 on ebay, ugly and not a very good description and even sideways pictures and darned if 3 of them didn't sell. It can be overwhelming for us now and the hardest part is going to find out what we want to sell and a pricing strategy. BE VERY CAREFUL of any old stuff you read on the web, most are snakes wanting your money. Anyway, best wishes to both of us, I do think at this point ebay is worth the fee's, just for the trafffic there.
Laters,
Todd

Hello guys :)

@Raymond: Like Todd mentioned (lots of) research is the key starting point! It might not seem like any fun but it is best to start with the fundamentals before investing any capital into your business.

Knowing what you want to sell is already a big step, next you might want to check your potential market as well as your competitors plus search for viable suppliers.

You might want to check out this supplier - Link hidden: Login to view

@Todd: Warm welcome to you! Thanks for the compliment and for trusting us here at SaleHoo :) We are always ready to hep out our members. Should you need any assistance please don't hesitate to let us know.

Cheers!

Hello Everyone:
I'm new too and very excited about starting my business on line. I want to start a on-line business selling business accessories (portfolio's, journals, desk accessories, file cabinets) with a designer look. I have some of my own designs and i am looking for manufactures that can create my products and offer dropshipping. Would anyone know where i should be looking for this information?
Also, has anyone did any research on the best on-line software to use to open my business. I have been researching all of them; Doba, 3dcart, bigcommerce, volusion. And honestly all of them are a bit confusing. What i do know is that many don't offer dropshipping assessability. When i used Go Daddy to create my domain name, they called me to offer their website but once I said dropshipping at least he was honest, they didn't offer that ability. I thought that was nice of them to be upfront about it instead of trying to sell me something else. So kudo's to them. But if any of you have gone through this shopping for a good ecommerce supplier please let me know because i am tired of reading through these websites with all the long verbaige. Salehoo so far has been great with less verbal any really good video tutorials. You won me with your video newsletters great info on scams to watch. Thanks!

Hello and welcome to SaleHoo, Joe :)

No you are not required to have a store whether on eBay or your on website.
You can start by simply listing products on eBay, should this be where you want to start selling your automotive parts.

Hope this helps!

Hello everyone.

My name is Trond Helge, and I`` m also a really newbie here. Just registred about an hour ago.
I don`t really know what to sell. I`ve checked out the research lab, and I have also done some research at Ebay. So I have a couple of questions:
The products recommended on the Research Lab-site, is this "up-and-coming" products all over the world? I`m from Norway. For instance, do you know any way I can check which products is "up-and-coming" in Norway?
And to the people familiar with Ebay: I checked out the fragrancesite mentioned by a person earlier in this post. I also checked Ebay for some of the Mens cologne, but didn`t get any hits. Does that mean that there is a big marked for this at Ebay, or does not these products sell at all?
Further, I wanna say that I`m really looking forward to get going with this, and good luck to you all..:)

Hello Richelle:
Would you be able to recommend some drop shippers that provides a larger variety of goods (women-men-children clothing/accessories, electronics, shoes, home furnishings) in the line of Macy's style or class of products?

Hello Richelle,
What is the difference with confirmed and nonconfirmed next to the name of the vendors on your list.

Hey Helge,
if you didn't know what to sell then check this guide to fnding some niches that maybe help you out (it helps me a ltittle).

The google Addword tool have also some filters for your searchings (Local search for expl. Norway)

The research is realy hard but i believe in that if you can find a profitable niche ... you do a big step further.

İ found also some products that didnt pop on ebay lists but that need a little researh too.
Try to spend a little time on Online Women Magazin's and parfum blogs.
Or check maybe blogs for products that interest you.

!!!*this is just my personal workflow, and it dosnt mean thats better*!!!

I found the video very interesseting and learned a lot, and the adwordsearch was brilliant:)
Really looking forward to continue working with this, and I`m excited about finding out which niche I will go for. I`ve learned today that this will take some more time than I thought before, but I definately think it will be worth it:)

@Gemimbuyuk: Welcome to SaleHoo! Great to have someone so eager to learn th ropes and doing their fair share of due diligence :)

Although, it is stated in Fragrancenet’s shipping policy about not shipping to our country, it is still worth the try to actually get in touch with them and ask them if they are willing to accommodate your request. At this point this is the only possible solution I see.

@telge80: Welcome to you too! What to sell is probably the number 1 asked question on the forum :) Our Research Lab features niche products, “not up and coming” products but products that are actually selling profitably with a viable market. However, currently our lab only uses data found on eBay.com (US site). But still it is a good place to do your product searches and get product ideas from. Fragrance actually has a good market but there is also a relatively high volume of sellers competing with each other.

You might want to give our very own SEO software a spin. You can try our free version of Traffic Travis by going to Link hidden: Login to view

@Retta: I’m not sure but you might want to check out the dropshippers on this list –

Please note that this has nothing to do with the reliability or legitimacy of the supplier. Rather the purpose of this is for us to know if the supplier has verified/confirmed their supplier profile on SaleHoo.

@nddnet: Welcome to SaleHoo, Nader :) I’m not too sure if there are specific dropshipping policies in Norway but wholesale dropshipping is a very popular form of product sourcing because it allows you to pay only for the items that you sell.

It works like this: You find a dropshipper and set up an account. Different dropshippers have different setups but usually you can choose to credit your account, or, you can simply leave it empty and pay for each item as you sell it. Once you've created an account, all you need to do is grab the dropshipper's provided photos and product descriptions for the items you wish to sell and list them on eBay or your website.

After you make a sale and receive payment, log into your dropshipper account, select the product you have just sold and take it through the checkout and pay for it. Enter the buyer's shipping details, and the dropshipper will package it up and post it.

It all starts with finding your product that you plan on selling. Because you would go about the marketing in a different way for different products.

For example you wouldn't be selling 5k reclining sofas for the elderly online (as that generation isn't crazy about the Internet) so no need for a web store.

If you're selling small electronics or baby clothes then you would start by narrowing it down by niche ( as there are countless sub groups in that main group).

Let me know if that doesn't make sense.
