Hi Richelle,

I hope you are doing well and getting ready for a blessed Holliday. I was trying to get everything done for this holiday season but I ran into some personal issues that are now resolved and I’m back :)

I have a few more questions that I hope you’ll be able to assist me with which are as follows:

I have decided to provide free shipping on my site and I have set my shipping option as free and my GEO Zones set for all zones?
I’m not sure if that’s correct or should it be set for within the United States/within Michigan?

Can I also state on my site that I’m providing free shipping? I wanted to promote that and let shoppers see that when they come to my site.

Also, if I wanted to post a discount for the variety of items on the site, for example buy any 3 items and get $5.00 off, am I able to do that and if so how?

Yes, I checked your store (admin) and looks like you have set it up correctly.

You can mention the "Free Shipping" promo in your store's description as well as individual product descriptions.

Sorry I'm not sure you can offer a "collective discount" for all items purchased. You can only offer a discount per product at this point.

Hi Richelle,

Not sure what I did wrong I entered the correct State tax heading and amount in the GEO tax class, then entered taxable item for the individual item under the specified product and when I did a trail run for the item titled 2 Piece Set Plus Size Fleece Pajamas for $10.00 to be shipped to my address in the same state Michigan I was charged the 6% great. But, when I changed the shipping address to Florida I was still charged the 6%, not sure why? I checked my GEO settings – tax class and my store settings – shipping and I have no idea what I’m doing wrong.

Other than that, I have decided to provide free shipping and was wondering if someone could take a look at my site internally and tell me if my settings are all ok and I’m ready to get started?

I know I have to enter the prices for the rest of my items and I was wondering if I should park the site while I complete the prices or not (not sure if it makes a difference)?

Would you recommend those sites that will help you market your site/on line business by emailing a large number of different emails for a small fee promoting your business to those recipients? If so are there any that you could recommend?

I tried this just now and I was not able to replicate the issue you pointed out. I initially place an order for Michigan and saw i was charged 6% tax, when I updated my state to Florida the 6% sales tax was removed.

The main difference is no one will be able to see or find your site while you are in the stage of completing everything, some prefer to do it this way.

I have not used any such service so it would be a bit of a challenge making the right recommendation but we have added 2 new guides to help you advertise and bring traffic to your SaleHoo store

Like the first issue, I was also unable to replicate this one. I created and account in your store, logged out and browsed through your products and added 2 Piece Set Plus Size Fleece Pajamas for $10.00 to my shopping cart, then i was prompted to login. after logging in the item 2 Piece Set Plus Size Fleece Pajamas for $10.00 was still in my cart.

Just let me make sure, I should have all my items set to taxable good right?

I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong but I will log in to my account as a shopper and select an item go to check out and check terms and condition and click continue then I’m kept on the same page saying that my information needs to be entered then when I enter the information then it tells me that my email address has already been used?

I just don’t know what I’m doing wrong???
I just can not get passed that initial page to make a purchase on my site.

Hello Rich Buy,

If I recall correctly, I set-up your Tax settings for your store so unless you changed it in any way please keep it as it is.

You might want to try deleting your test account and register a new one. I registered on your store and I was not prompted by any messages when I tried to make a test purchase.

Hello Richell,

I hope you have been well, I believe everything is ready to go, I know I have asked you before but would you take another look and let me know if I have missed anything.

However I do have a few more questions:
I have added some specials and when that option is selected you see the price of the item and the customer would have to select the item to actually see the special price. The problem with that is if they don’t select the item they won’t see the special price and think that the regular price that’s showing is the price.

Can you make it so the sale price shows and when the customers selects the item they see the regular price that’s crossed out as well as the sale price (as it is currently). I have entered the sale price currently in both the special and regular slots so the cheaper price is showing.

Also, for payment I have selected PayPal and PayPal Direct Checkout, is that correct?

I have tried setting it up on my store as well as yours but I was not able to do anything about your feature request. Sorry but that setting where the slashed price will show on the main page is not currently supported. But please feel free to vote on the request here.

You don't have to activated both PayPal and PayPal Direct Checkout. If PayPal Direct Check is an option available to you then choose this one.

Hi Richelle,

I hope all is well, I'm having a problem my mom went to my site to make a purchase and made an account. She then picked what she wanted and when she went to pay by credit card she was not able to. she confirmed what she wanted and agreed to the terms and entered her credit card information and security code on the back. then clicked continue and the site kept bringing her back to the credit card page?

I then also tried making a purchase my self and tried going through my paypal account. I was able to complete my order on line but I can not view what I purchased on the web site its telling me that I have no order history? I have not received the order on the web site either? I logged into the web site and went to order and there is nothing there, then I refreshed the site and still nothing?

Please help

Was there an error message? If there was something wrong your store will prompt you with an error message like,

Payment Information
Credit Card Details
Security header is not valid


Kindly check with your mother if she was prompted with any error message.

Also, kindly try ordering and accessing your store (front and admin) via a another browser and let us know how you get on.

Hello Richelle,

OMG, why me,

Ok, I checked the orders under the Abandoned for orders and they are all there.
Now I also tried entering another order using my credit card and its telling me that my Security header is not valid? I dont know what that means, I entered the credit card number as well as the 3 digits on the back of the visa card? I dont understand...

When I made my purchase through paypal I did not receive an error message. however, when I checked for the order on my web site it was not there and I have no record of it. I did receive an email from paypal regarding the amount and that is would be processed when via-buydirect.com process the order. Everything with paypal and my account is accurate and up to date otherwise I would not have received those emails from paypay. I also called them and they said that it was something going on with my shopping cart and to check with my provider. But again on the site I have no record of the sale or items sold.

I spoke with my mom and she did not receive an error message either. She signed in selected items she wanted to buy, agreed to the terms selected continue entered her credit card information then selected continue and the page would clear and start her over and she would enter her credit card info again and again. She said she did that several times and nothing went through but never had an error message.

Kindly check that your PayPal account is set to "Live Mode" and not to "Sandbox mode" as this might be the reason for the issue.

Please let us know once this is done and if the issue persists in your store even after setting it to "Live mode"
