I wondering if i should get a 800 number or use a cell phone?
is there any good ones out there?

also is it wise to use a professional greeter for my number? trying to make my site as much professional as i can.

Hi sumwise,

If you have money to spare for an 800 number and professional greeter/recording then go for it :)

But if you are just starting out I would suggest focusing your resources on bringing it traffic and converting these to actual sales.

I know that having a 800 number makes you seems like a really serious and professional seller but using your mobile phone for starters won't be that bad so long as you answer customer calls or emails promptly and in a professional manner you should be fine.

All the best!

Yeah, as Richelle has said, if you have that sort of marketing budget, then it can only help. Having said that, is it really required?

In my opinion providing any number for customers to contact you on is a good marketing tool, whether it's a free call or not. Buyer confidence plays a big role in consumers spending money anywhere, especially online

So the more confidence they have in buying from you, the more chances you have of making sales, and knowing there is a number, not just an email, where they can contact you is a BIG plus in giving them that confidence to spend.

If you are just starting out, I would suggest you look at other areas of marketing where your dollars could perhaps provide better value. What about a live presenter?

Having a live presenter welcome people to the site can also give deliver a very positive image to a consumer. They add a nice little personal touch to what can other-wise be, a very sterile environment.

The one thing that all marketing surveys will usually highlight is the fact they people do like person to person contact, and a web presenter is a positive marketing tool in my opinion.

OK, now there are a stack of these available and each very in what they offer and what they charge. If it's something you are interested in looking at as an option, I would suggest one of the better priced ones is model2web.com

Now in regards to marketing over all, neither a toll free number or a web presenter are going to work as a primary marketing tool. These are both secondary tools, they are designed to be used to impress consumers once you have them at your site.

Primary marketing is all about getting the consumers there to start with, so just be careful where you spend your marketing budget, because it's real easy to end up with a super cool looking website that no one ever visits!
