Hello, I'm pretty new here and I hope I can get some help :)

I'm looking for video game closeouts preferably for Wii and PS3.. I understand you will not be making a lot of money from Video Game dropshipping. However, where would I be able to find closeout, overstock video games in bulk from? I have seen big suppliers on ebay selling retail games for $10 less than walmart. For example: wii fit cost in canada is $25 plus 13% tax in Ontario. the seller was selling it for $14 + 4 shipping cost.

How is this even possible? I'm not that new to selling online, I've been looking for suppliers and researching this area for about a year now and still have no luck with it.

Any help with video game wholesalers or closeouts would be appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, I have tried all of them. They are practically worthless (sorry to say). Innex Inc never replies, the others sell games more expensive than walmart or don't carry the wii games at all.

Thanks richelle, I honestly don't mean to be rude, but $77 for a Wii Game?!? Is this a joke?! They are nothing but retailers buying games from the stores like walmart and selling it online for double the price. The same game in walmart usa is $44.00. I don't see how these people call themselves dropshippers or wholesalers- they are only retailers

Hi again marsbars89,

To clarify, please note that their prices are quoted in Singaporean dollars and not USD.

Hello, I'm pretty new here and I hope I can get some help :)

I'm looking for video game closeouts perferably for Wii and PS3.. I understand you will not be making a lot of money from Video Game dropshipping. Any help with video game wholesalers or closeouts would be appreciated. Thanks!

I just want to clarify the difference between closeouts and drop shipping so there is no misunderstanding among our members in general. Closeout products are those available through liquidation avenues. For numerous reasons, a retailer will unload a stock pile of games that are surplus to their current requirements, but the purchaser will be required to purchase in MOQ amounts.

A drop shipper will offer their products on a per unit basis, and the games should be guaranteed to be new, where as you need to clarify what condition the stock would be in if purchased through liquidation.

You can find liquidated video games, however being such as strong market there is usually an exceptionally good reason for the stock to have been liquidated in the first place. The most common, very slow moving stock, which means that if it was moving at a snails pace on a retailers shelf, the chances are it will move at the same pace online, if not slower!

Biggest Pros: Liquidation - Price
Biggest Cons: Liquidation - stock variety, condition and MOQ

Biggest Pros: Drop Shipping - Low volume purchasing, range availability
Biggest Cons: Drop Shipping - Price (very minimum margin, if any at all)

The absolute best price for new and current games is available by dealing through a major distributor, not a wholesaler as such. Easier said than done, distributors won't give you the time of day if you're not coming to them with extremely deep pockets, because to get the best price, you need to be buying in SERIOUSLY big volume.

Wholesalers will be the next best value option for new and current games. Typically, these suppliers are buying straight from the distributors, and can therefore provide you with the best price on low volume purchasing. Most wholesalers start their MOQ amounts off at around 100 games, but that does vary of course.

Quite a few wholesalers supply by dollar volume now, meaning that once you spend X amount of dollars, you move up to the next tier in purchasing price discount, despite the amount of games that involves. General rule of thumb for this structure is first tier purchase of around 2k worth, but does vary.

Rule of thumb with this type of product is the same as any product really. The more you purchase, the better your price, the more chance you have of not just competing, but of making decent margin.

My own opinion, the only way to compete in the games market, especially through an avenue such as eBay, is to be buying in large volume. Even if not enough to get it straight from a distributor themselves, buy from a wholesaler in the largest volume possible to secure the best price possible.

Hi Marc, thanks for the reply. I understand the differences between the both, however I am not looking to completely base my sales on just games. I'm also selling accessories. However, I think that games can bring traffic and promote my website, even if it's $5.00 profit from dropshippers, I am willing to do it since it's not my only product being sold, which is why I was looking for also dropshippers.

On the other hand, I would like to find some closeout video games. The only place I've seen is liquidation.com. I'm not sure how their shipping is though.

I have found one supplier which I may be able to profit a few bucks off new release games, and I think that's amazing combining the price and shipping of new release games, I'm still able to sell it a couple bucks cheaper than retail.

So that's the only reason I want to carry games. I'm okay with making $3-$5 off each as dropshipping, as long as it brings traffic to my site.

Hi MB, I have to say that your idea in using drop shipping as an addition to your wholesale style purchasing is a pretty good one. When it comes to drop shipping, that is most definitely my favoured way of using it myself.

I also think you're on the right track in regards to traffic generation. I have gone the other way, using games as the primary market and using accessories as a secondary market for extra traffic generation, however I use a wholesale model for both to maximse the margins.

Liquidation.com is one of the better avenues for this type of stock, but as you have indicated, shipping with those guys can burn you. One surplus company that comes to mind is Farah Trading Company. They don't always have this type of stock, worth a look. Good constant surplus stock loads of games and accessories are pretty hard to get hold of.

In regards to your other post, that lot could well have come from any avenue. It has the hallmarks of a liquidated load to me, but who would really know. He's choosing an interesting way to sell it, so that indicates to me that the titles are not fast moving and he's looking to roll over cash flow only.

If you purchased a load like that at wholesale, with truly hot items included, you would break them down into individual sales to maxmise your profit, not unload as a bulk purchase and have to reduce your price to sell to a smaller market.

As a general rule the mark-up on games online is far smaller than it is in offline retail avenues like Walmart. Don't worry, we have big video game retailers here selling new release tiles for around the 100 dollar mark in some cases. Those exact same titles, we sell for for 65.00 online, and still make margin.

If anyone is buying their video games offline, they are getting hammered with the price!
