I joined SaleHoo after hearing about it on thefastlaneforum.com and reading some positive reviews. I was interested in the market assessment tool and the approved supplier directory.

It seems the market assessment tool is ok for general products. They recommend to type in specific products, but it struggles with long loading times and sometimes no results (possibly issues with my computer though it seems to be running fine). I also question some of the accuracy. Ironically the research tool suggests good products for resale that SaleHoo usually has no suppliers for.

The wholesale directory is good for finding reliable suppliers, but the majority are US suppliers and there are virtually no margins. It would be great to have more approved suppliers from other countries, where you can actually get decent margins and not have to worry about scammers.

The tutorial information is useful, but most of the information can easily be found online. The forum is active, but there are free forums/blogs for eCommerce online.

In my opinion, you have to do the research yourself. Find suppliers through sites like alibaba.com, globalsources.com, aliexpress.com, made-in-china.com, and liquidation.com (to name a few). They have foreign suppliers where you can find decent margins but beware of scammers.

I was hoping to find reliable suppliers faster, but I'm just going to have to be careful and research potential suppliers.

Hello Eric,

Thank you for your insights on your SaleHoo experience.

It's great that you have found our resources of help to you.

I just would like to point out that the market assessment tool, or the Market Research Lab, gets its data from the popular searches coming off the eBay listings. So this actually explains why you may be seeing suggestions that we do not have suppliers for. The tool is reliant on data feed coming from eBay and refreshes every 30 seconds. When I search for niches to feature on our MMOTW blogs, I always check manually if there are really no suppliers in the directory by doing a manual search - and what do you know, we do have suppliers after all.

SaleHoo suppliers are also pre-approved based on the following requirements:
1. Secured payment options
2. Tenure in online selling (2 years online)
3. Secured domain rights of the actual supplier (supplier's email address has an @companyname instead of just yahoo.com or gmail.com)

This brings you to an advantage since we have filtered out possible scammers or those who might offer countefeit items. We cannot guarantee 100% results, this is why we need the help of our members to report any supplier that we may need to be removed from the directory to protect our members.

I hope this clarifies a few items, too.

All the best!

I have just joined Saleshoo and entered my credit card number. Now scrolling through your site and I cannot access the Directory. Do I have to wait or is there something else that I need to do?

Hi and welcome to the forum

Try logging out of the site and then back in, that will reset everything and you should get open directory access. If you don't, let us know and we'll follow up the issue for you

Cheers
