wondering, which is the best eBay site as in country to sell on that is value for money, you know, like I hear china is free to sell on eBay, if I want to sell worldwide, I suppose ebay.com.au would not be viable where ebay.com would be.

Do you get what I am on about?

The problem you have in covering international eBay markets is that the option to view international sellers is in the hands of the buyer, not the seller. It's simple to list your products worldwide, but the if the buyer sets their search parameter to local country only, then your listings are not going to display. The only way you could get them to display would be to list them on that eBay where you particularly want them to display and even then, if the buyer sets a heavily restricted search with limited distance range, that takes you out of the game as well.

So unless you're keen on listing on each eBay, there is no guaranteed way to do it unfortunately.

If you want to give yourself the best chance of hitting international buyers, then yes, eBay.com would be my suggestion, but I would also consider eBay in the UK as well as a serious option.

Which international sites are good. How does the shipping and currency converter system work? Do they use USA global shipping method.

Hi Ngozi

Can you just clarify your question. When you say which international sites are good, what sites are you referring to?

Regarding setting up accounts, you only need to set up one eBay account. From that account, you can then log into any international eBay and post your listing. So for example, if you are registered on eBay UK and want to list on eBay US, then you just log into eBay US with your account information and post your listing there.

Just bare in mind that different eBays have different pricing structures for different genres, so you want to make sure you are aware of all that before posting.

Regarding shipping, if you are dropshipping products, then that can come down to your suppliers shipping policy. If you are selling direct, then you have to develop your own shipping strategy/policy.

Payments methods, PayPal is available through every eBay, but different countries may offer different options outside of PayPal as well.

Cheers

I am in the US and sell about 40% of my items to global markets. I use the Ebay Global Shipping Program. Its easy and cheap for the seller. You do nothing with the International fees as Ebay does it all. I just send it to a local hub here in the states. That may help with some decision making. :)

Hi,
Thanks for your helpful response. Assuming you list your items for sale directly on UK Ebay platform, can you be able to use the global shipping program that works with US Ebay platform?

the UK has its own GSP for items physically located there.

Can you use the US GSP to ship internationally if the product is located in the US?

If the product is physically located in the US and you meet the eligibility requirements, then you would use the US GSP to ship internationally.

Global shipping program great for sellers, but hated by buyers, very expensive, slow shipping, hard to track, buyers prefer sellers e,g, from the US that use UPS instead, so many buyers try to avoid sellers using the GSP as much as possible.
