Do you have what it takes to Build An Internet Business?

Let me ask you, “Do you have what it takes to build an Internet business”?

Just knowing the principles about online marketing won’t do any good if you don't have the patience and persistence to put them to use in your business. It doesn't matter if you can tell me step-by-step in detail exactly how to get top position in the search engines if you never make an effort to actually do it.

It doesn't really matter what you know… it only matters what information you use.

Here are three questions that you really need to ask yourself if you desire to be successful in your own business:

1) Are you consistent in your business?

Many Internet marketing techniques strongly rely on your consistently following them. If you want to build a large e-mail list, that means you have to spend time on it every day or every week. If you want to receive traffic at first sight, you have to get out there and make deals every day trade links, participate in online discussions; work on search engines, etc.

Are you really willing to put forth the necessary effort to build a successful business? Some people are.

Are you?

Let's just break down the notion once and for all that it is easy to jump online and make a ton of money. It isn't. It takes planning. It takes work. It takes doing the right thing day after day. The Internet is NOT “Get Rich Quick.” If you are NOT willing to put forth some effort you don't need to be in this business.

2)Are you Persistent in your Business?

Do you have the patience it takes to build an Internet business? Too many people have heard some of the wonders about almost instant success online and expected it to be like that for everyone.

Let me put that notion to rest right here and now. Yes, some people have come online with just the right product at the right time. Some people made it big rather quickly, but that in no way means they didn't need to take a lot of preparation to get to that point, and that doesn't mean that this happens to everyone.

Most Internet marketers start out online with a little traffic and a few sales, then they aggressively and constantly apply the necessary techniques to build their business every week. Most start part-time and build their income up until they make more money from the Internet than from their regular job.

Most marketers actually fail at first in their businesses. You don't have to be upset if you have failed at your present online presence you are in good company. Most of us have… I know I have. You are only a failure if you give up and quit after you fail.

3)Are You Willing to Learn in Your Business?

Do you know it ALL already? Way too many people I have spoken to blame their failures on line on the market. They went away saying the Internet just doesn't work. I'm here to tell you it does work, if you know how to work with it.

I saw about everything I could find on how to build a successful business online. You should see my shelves in my home office. You will see shelves of marketing information and Internet information. Every step forward in my business is taking place because I learned another key that I could apply in my business didn't come all at one time. It came little by little.

If you already know it all then you are going to keep your business from growing. If you aren't willing to learn and you will stay right where you are now. If you are not willing to be persistent, consistent, and learn in your business and you don't have the right stuff to build a business. Many people don't, but I expect that since you are reading this you are one of those people who do.

If so, I want you to understand that Rome wasn't built in a day, and your website probably won't be either. Apply these characteristics to your business and step-by-step you will start moving to the top.

Do You have what it takes to build an Internet Business?

Glad you enjoyed that, the points that John outlines are extremely valid and are points that every new online seller, including a few with more experience, should take note of.

hello my name is Jorge I'm a university student of psychology and I like the business, I am a very new member of SaleHoo, and tell her you made a mistake by ignorance on ebay, but not entirely wrong because SaleHoo is approved by ebay and the supplier of droopshiper where I copy the picture says = you can copy directly from our photo and paste them into products ready for sale on eBay, but I suspended my ebay account, I am a little depressed = college student who wants to advance its own in the life will suspend the account, send the documents due to ebay, but I would like to know if Salehoo can help restore my account with ebay, I have not done anything wrong as I said, but because it depresses me so want to start and suddenly I see suspended the account.

I'm also looking for people Latino SaleHoo I can advise and guide and I pass these things (also welcome all other countries). I leave my email to contact me directly.

Hi Jorge,

Welcome to SaleHoo :) Sorry to hear of your unfortunate circumstances over at eBay. Unfortunately, we cannot do anything to actually restore you eBay account but we can try our best to guide you along the way.

What reason did eBay provide you with, when they suspended you account? Please give us more details so we can help you out accordingly.

You might find Erika's post helpful Link hidden: Login to view

Just remember never do anything to circumvent your suspension, like opening a new account by using a different email or username - eBay can easily track you down. You would have a better chance at having your account reinstated if you comply with what eBay is asking you to do or provide.

Hope this helps, all the best!

Jorge

Do not let EBAy slow you down... Build a website then post ads for items your selling on Craigslist. Also submit product feeds to Yahoo Bing and other top engines.... There is more then just EBAY?

I agree with wholesalejoe, your online selling career does not have to end with eBay. There are many promising sites like Addoway and Bonanza if you are not ready to start your own website :)

You might want to see the list of alternatives on this thread so you can explore your options outside eBay -

This is an inspiration, My family thought, hey just put up a site and start making money (haaaaaaaaaaa) learned that is not the case real quick. I am a geek and should have been involved in computers instead of construction.

Well I started to build a store on go daddy (sucked), then Intuit (also sucked), then I really started research, podcast, internet, bookstore, e-books, researching internet marketing, seo, etc.. been at it for 3 months now

Decided on SaleHoo over Doba, going to go with BigCommerce for site and store
Got my domain, resale license, business license, bank account in business name and FEIN #

I really want to do a store based on natural and organic products
Have spent hours and hours searching for drop ship venders and I am making progress but it is slow and tough

At times I just want to throw in the towel with my organic / natural store and just go for the $ and start selling anything that makes a buck

For now I am going to keep putting in the hours and try and make this work
One thing I keep hearing in my research is “you must fail to succeed” I hope my failures will be small and I can identify them and move forward

If any of you think I am crazy please let me know
I have a 1 year plan and hope to make $ someday

Thanks
Robert

Hey lslater1956,

I think we all have to be paitent wheather starting a business on the internet or not. Physical businesses don't consider themselves a success until after the first 3-5 yrs because of all the things that can go wrong. On the internet success can be achieved much sooner. There are just so many stumbling blocks in our way. The learning curve on any business is pretty steep, so hang in there. It seems you in the right place to avoid many of them though, salehoo has lots of educational resources for us newbies to use.

By the way I just joined salehoo and I look forward to working with this company for a long time. The amount of information I see here is a little overwelming but if you create a real plan you can sift through and get just the information you need for your plan to succeed.

Do you have you plan in writing? Have you outlined your goals with definate dates to achieve them? Do you have all of these plans divided into bite sized chunks so you can concentrate on each bite one at a time, savoring the success as you complete them day after day, month after month an so on?
Take some time to plan this will save you alot of time later when your wondering what's the next step. Get some advice from your teachers, as a student you have all thier wisdom to fall back on as well. Remember advice is a tool, use it as you see fit. If some advice will not work for you or it's negative discard it and move on.

Sorry this post was so long but I thought you might need some encouragement.

Later,
Tom

I've joined SaleHoo about 4 months ago. Needless to say it has opened doors and opportunities that were never possible before. I had a misconception of the internet world. Thinking more along the lines that this was going to be an over night rich scheme. Boy was I wrong! Countless hours of writing in Forums and creating backlinks. Long road ahead..

Hello Jbaca,

I am very new to this and actually have not put up a site, but your article has resonated with some of the thoughts I had in relation to another article about online retailing. This article was in relation to what to sell and one of the important points was to sell what your passionate about and to find that "niche" product. My gut feeling was there maybe some truth in that but finding a "niche" product is not always going to happen and selling what you love may not be what people want to buy. From my reading and I am doing a lot to get a feel for things it appears to make a consistent income you need to be systematic. You need to analyze the sales, you need to analyze search results and you need to change your add words and products to match what is being searched for in combination to what is being sold.

At the moment I am not putting up a site until I have learned to consistently predict what will sell by looking at the data and then putting in predictions and then checking my predictions the next week. I must be 100% confident in my ability to research and accurately price products.

I am not in this to make a win fall, but to make a steady and consistent amount each week. I am looking at eventually, and I realize it will take me at least a year, to make around $800 profit a week.
