I got away from paypal very quickly after they screwed me over for thousands. I now use Merchantinc.com to get my transactions handled.
As you should have as they were holding, if I remember correctly, 25,000 dollars of your money.
In your case, it was the amount of money in such a short time from several different sources.
I am not defending Paypal in any way. I just know your experience certainly raised some pretty big red flags with Paypal. And you had to start legal proceedings with them right, before they released the funds.
I think they were being a little sleazy with you and trying to keep the funds.
The sit with Paypal is to play their game if you want them in your business.
Actually PayPal screwed us all in that deal, jimmy ended up having to return all the funds to get it resolved and PayPal hit us for transaction fees...lol
It turned out to be nothing more than extortion!
And until recently, they were the only game in town as post 07 eBay accounts are required to use Paypal.
If you have an 07 or older account you are OK as you don't have to use Paypal. eBay account

Paypal is really really bad though Planes, so that is truly giving them a benefit not deserved.
I definitely moved to Merchant Accounts.
Amazon payments, Google Checkout, 1st Data Payment solutions I can take any payment type including credit card- never had a problem.
Before when I was eBay only, I had to take ONLY Paypal, or Propay, both take a huge commission for processing the fee. BIG problem!
In fact I am looking at ways to drop Paypal alltogether, and use Google Checkout exclusively for any very large transaction.
There is not any real processing fee and they can never just freeze your money for no reason at all, it takes alot to cause a problem with them. And for really large payments definitely 1st Data payment solutions, I wouldn't trust anything less!
Yeah but you know what was worse planes. They charged me $1400 to accept that money and another $1400 to release it after I paid $205 For Lawsuit proceedings. And $99 for a courier to deliver the subpoena to chicago.
I had 3K of my own money in there before they pulled that crap and lost it all.
I don't remember the details but the suit was for illegal seizure of funds, and the demands was immediate release of the funds or they would be sued for $1,000,000 in damages. I actually had help from a lawyer on paypalsucks.com he helped me draw up the papers. Funny how the money was released the same day the courier confirmed delivery of the papers.
And all this was after I faxed them Proof of Ownership to the company and all kinds of legal crap.Spent 3 weeks talking with one idiot to another getting lied to by every single one of the management crew, acting like they were on my side yet letting trust and saftey email me BS every time stating not enough information supplied.
4 Years of membership with them and over $100K in transactions done with paypal and they pull that crap on me.
Hell those jackasses knew everything down to the color of my underwear.
They are cons plain and simple. They freeze your account an milk interest off of your money.
Now that is a major rippoff.
I love Jim Cramer...BooYa!! I listed some stuff on Bonanzle & iOffer with no luck yet. Hopefully Bonanzle will start getting more traffic cause it's a pretty cool site.
Sure did & I have it updating every night.
