Hi Everyone,

I am new to SaleHoo and I am exploring a lot and already know the basics of wholesale and dropshipping. I really need help on some suppliers on desktop pc, memory ram, and etc, I could not find any sites that have a true wholesale price to sell on eBay. The only site I found that was good is Link hidden: Login to view. But even then this site already sells on eBay with an eBay ID and the same wholesale price on their site, what is the point of selling these wholesale prices if they are already selling them on eBay which is the same price on their site, it's like taking a sea cucumber out of the ocean, any advice here if anyone knows a good place to find good true wholesale prices. Oh and is PayPal new policy true when you dropship an item PayPal will hold your funds for 21 days, please tell that's not true or if it is that just sucks!

Hi, I'm new here also but I can tell you if you are looking for a place to make any profit its not on the web because there are so many middle men that you have to buy from. Thats what makes the market of all of these products explode. If you are only looking to make money and you don't care what to sell send me a email and I will let you in on a little secret on how to bulk the folds of your wallet.

Have you checked out Evertek and DBL? They are fantastic suppliers for the items you mentioned. Yes it's true some wholesalers do sell on eBay as well. It just means you have to be more creative: whether that is creating a niche that allows you to charge a premium price, buying liquidation, or selling across a number of different auction sites.

Hello Grace, what do you mean by niche thats allows you to sell in a premium price?

She means finding items that do not have a strong presence online or on ebay. People are looking for everything. I was the first seller on ebay to sell slendertone replacement pads on ebay. We paid $4.99 for each pack but we sold them as high as $60.00 each for months until other sellers caught on to it.

Just because its on ebay doesnt mean the same item is on amazon. You have several selling venues to try selling new products. It does take carefull research but niches will never run out.

A niche is something that you specialize in that will help you focus on delivering a better and more comfortable experience for your consumers. For example, you build computers and you like to overclock. If you focus on selling products that cool RAM, Chipsets (Northbridge, Southbridge) CPU coolers or other things that specialize in that sort of thing. By specializing you will have more knowledge and expertise in the subject so to speak. I hope this helps

Hi,
So far I have not been very successful sourcing products either. I have found the same to be true---that prices on ebay are lower than other 'wholesale' sites. This is better than Doba. I did a free trial there and their prices and fees etc...were ridiculous. I have found more on my own. I buy beads to make jewelry and looked at exporters in China and Bali and figure I ought to sell to them!!
If anyone knows of real sources for beads, silver, glass and gemstone please let me know.
Wholesalecentral.com and
TopTenWholesale.com look good, and its free to look.
Anyone have any comments about Worldwide brands??

I have been a member for over a month now and I just started selling online about 2 months ago and I have to admit, this site is by far the most informative. I read through everything from the tips to what the members had to say as well. You have to do your research, it is not something you can just sign up and you are selling right off.

The best way to sell at competitive prices from other ebayers is by buying wholesale in bulk. The more you buy the more you save. That is the secret. Dropshipping is a difficult business to get into and I wouldn't recommend it as your first thing starting off selling online. Especially electronics.

This is what I bought online. I bought some children's clothes at wholesale, saved a little and made a little. But after I do this a couple of times, I can use that money that I earned through those sales and purchase over $1000. If I do that, shipping is free. I save even more money. You are not going to get rich quick, this is not going to happen and the sooner you get that out of your head the sooner you can start making good decisions about where to purchase things. Take time to read the forums and you will learn a lot.
I also bought some items on liquidation.com and have had great success with my items. Not only do I sell online through ebay, I sell at local garage sales and flea markets. It is taking me some time but I learned it right the first time.
I also bought a couple of profit packs from ppwg.com through Jimmy and I have to say that this is my biggest win yet. I have barely cleared the surface of all the great items I got in my packs and have only listed 17 items on ebay since sunday. I have 6 watchers already. That makes me jump into gear to get the hotter items online so I could catch a couple of bites. :)
Just remember, find something that you have fun selling and sell it. If you are limited to a small budget, that is ok. It will take you a little longer but you will get your sales built up. And like many others have stated on here, if you are looking to sell on ebay or other auction sites, start clearing your house out of things lying around. Get a customer base built up and slowly your profits will build. Do you think Jimmy became a powerseller overnight and is where he is today? I know I have my goals and I intend to reach them. Believe in yourself and you can do it.
It's just that you are not going to do it over night. :)

Hi Terri. If you want a real supplier for beading and supplies, you need to go to; Link hidden: Login to view once you get on the site, request their catalog and they will mail you one that is about a half inch thick..They can and will supply everything you need from swarovski crystals, sterling silver, etc., any size and type of bead you might want and beading tools to work it with..

They litterly have thousands of types of beads and stones and supplies..My mom beads and that is who she uses...

The catalog request is located at the bottom of the homepage under customer service...They are probably the largest true wholesaler in the united states...

There is absolutely nothing wrong with online selling. Total online sales in the u.s. in 2004 totaled $65 billion, sales in 2008 for just the first quarter (4 months) were $19 billion, up 23 per cent from the first quarter last year.
Where as offline retail sales were up only 7 percent from last year. That's quite a difference between online and offline. And most reports say that as the economy gets tighter sales are increasing at a fast pace to online shopping.

Will selling online make you rich over night? NO. Is selling online easy? NO. Can you make a living selling online? Yes.

Most people think that all you have to do is take any product and put it up on ebay or a website and money starts flowing into your bank account. In reality online selling is a highly competitive marketplace. It takes alot of research, hard work and time to be sucessful. I know that there is a ton of programs and ads out there on the web that will tell you just the opposite. Just buy this simple program, start selling our products and then go sit on the beach collecting millions for the rest of your life..

That being said, if you do want to sell online and really want to be successful, then the only thing that can really stop you is yourself..You are not going to get rich overnight, but you can make a very good living, be your own boss, and have quite a bit of freedom, IF, you are willing to put the time and effort into it. Selling online is just like any other job or project online or off, you get out of it what you are willing to put into it....It's just that simple...

My advise is to start slow, learn how things work online, build several stream of income with different products and gradually build and expand your business. Also don't be afraid to make mistakes and when you do, learn from them.

Don't get pulled into thinking that you have to be selling all the HOT products that you see all the hype about. Look for things that people need and use everyday.. Keep in mind that I said NEED, not WANT. I need a car to run my errands, but i want a mercedes. Everyday products are easy to aquire and keep in stock and normally produce more profit per item than do all the hot products and gadgets, especially electronics.

Remember that the majority of online shoppers are impulse buyers. So if you spend a little bit of time writing good auction listings or good sales copy for your website, you should have no trouble closing the sale.. In addition, not everyone lives close to a nice shopping mall, nor does everyone work normal working hours that allows them to get to a nice store during regular shopping hours..These people turn to online shopping for their needs and can easily become your customers...

why is dropshipping a bad idea for sales on Ebay? I keep thinking, surely Ebay has competition! If so, who is it? Amazon etc.
Im really sick of paying so much to Ebay and paypal when I do sell an item on there! Any advice?

Not entirely a bad idea, since drop shipping allows new sellers to list and have a try on selling even without capital. Drop shipping will also let you test a market without too much risk, since you can test or expand your product range without heavily investing in stock.

However, eBay is the most competitive marketplace in the world, and you will find products selling at prices even lower than wholesale. How can this be? The truth is that a lot of wholesale suppliers are also on eBay selling directly to the public! And this means you can’t expect to make much profit drop shipping items on eBay. Honestly, drop shipping will not work that well on eBay unless you find a niche where competition is small.

Here are steps you can take:

* Order in bulk quantities to drive the wholesale price down
* Sell on another auction site other than eBay – there are heaps to choose from and profit margins are usually better. Craigslist is also a good place to sell if you live in the USA. (Let us know if you need more suggestions for places to sell online)
* Buy liquidation – this lets you get product for pennies on the dollar. (I’ll let you in on a secret, this is how lots of powersellers make money on eBay these days)
* Find a niche market with few competitors – collectibles and one-off items have amazing profit margins, even on eBay.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you need assistance in looking for suppliers.

Have a nice day!

Irene
