Hi, I am new to the world of wholesaling. I understand the concept as it is pretty easy, buy low sell high. Herein lies the problem. I have looked at the majority of suppliers listed here on Salehoo for the items I am interested in and either I cannot find the specs I am looking for (MP4 player at least 4GB) or the ones that I can find are for sale wholesale for more than what the are selling for on Ebay before I even factor in for shipping. Am I missing something here? There is an MP4 player listed on the main page that got me to join for only $30.00. I'll be darned if I can find it. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Scott,

These special deals, like the MP4 one you saw, are usually snapped up extremely quickly when they are advertised. It's likely there will be more in the future, however we do encourage members to branch out and search for products to sell that are less competitive as it is (sadly) nearly impossible to find a long-term supply at special prices such as this for such competitive products.
We suggest finding a non-brand name product with a niche market that you can buy very cheaply from China, Asia etc. Chinavasion.com and dhgate.com are both great places to start.

Hope this helps :)

I am also new to importing and wholesaling. I was on dhgate.com looking at golf clubs. I was looking at the TaylerMade R7 driver, 3 wood, 9 irons, and a putter for $279 (thats very very cheap) Are the clubs really TaylerMade or replica. The site seems trustworthy, can I trust dhgate.com? I am ready to order so any information on them will be helpful.

OK a couple more questions:
I have just had a problem dropshipping. I sold an item on ebay, I ordered the item and the dropshipper said 18 items in stock, that was a couple days ago. (the item was a Chicago Bears Helmet) Today I got an email saying I was getting a refund because they were out of stock. I understand that you can run into this but when you order, shouldn't you be told then, if item is in stock or not? The thing that makes me mad is that after I ordered, I emailed the buyer to tell them that the item was being proccessed (MAKES ME LOOK UNRELIABLE) Are ebay buyers understanding about this type of thing? Does this happen alot? I emailed the buyer today and am still waiting to here back. I am afraid I will get bad feedback. Of course I will give full refund. Will I get paypal transaction fee back?

Usually the best way is to immediately refund the buyers money and send them a message saying you accidentally relisted a item that had already been sold. Works 100% of the time for me. But I never do dropshipping when I say that to a buyer , I actually did accidentally relist the item lol.

Hello haus1028,

Was both items from the same supplier?
or a different one? Who was it?

I understand the way your feeling about dropshippers and out of stock items. Its happended to me several times.

What I,ve started doing with some of the dropshipper that have run out of stock on a product that Ihave aready sold, is to just buy what I list and send it to myself, that way I know that I can fullfill my listings.

Of course make sure you do your market research first to make sure do don't get stuck with the item or take a lose just to move it.

I also try to keep my listing fairly short so to help ensure that I can still aquire the item I want, from my more reliable suppliers.

I have also started buying product 'lots' from liquidation suppliers. Most have auctions on 'new' items at much better prices than most dropshippers.

Yeah dropshippers is a bit overated. There are some that make great money doing it but the majority are just getting screwed.
