Guys I'm new here but am running into a problem. I have become members of countless sites, trying to find a good dropshipper. Everytime I run into the same problem. The products they offer are outrageously priced.. They are priced so high that there is no way an avid ebay seller like myself could ever hope to sell any of it. My latest venture was this auctionsforincom.com stuff, which of course I got burned on. Am I just doing something wrong?

I would like to sell stuff like name brand Ipods or electronics.. but is that the wrong items to try and sell? Should I be looking for oddball stuff that just happens to be priced right?

I'm confused.

You just answered your own question :D

The reason your having a hard time is that your trying to dropship.

Infomercials and newsmedia make dropshipping stories seem like the easiest way to make tons and tons of money on ebay.

The only problem is that is 'JUST A STORY'

It is in fact hard to make money in dropshipping because ebay is a wholesalers marketplace and dropshippers are selling you items just above thier wholesale value the reason is they can make more money dropshipping to you then they can trying to sell the stuff on ebay.

The people that buy items in mass bulk have more power to sell the items lower then you can aquire them. Because they are buying the items for a fraction of thier wholesale value. Some people can aquire items so low that they dont have to worry about starting a 1 cent auction and the item selling below its wholesale price because they only paid a fraction of the cost.

Try buying in bulk and storing items in a closet or a spare bedroom. That way you can buy cheap and sell cheap and still profit.

I thought this may be the case.. but as many people out there. I have very little money. Practically nothing. I don't have the money to buy anything in bulk. I even tried liquidation.com, but as usual.. I just don't have the money to compete with the heavy hitters out there. I can I get going if everything costs so much money?

It's frustrating because it seems like the only way to get money is to have money.. which doesn't help me at all, since I have no money.

This is an unfortunate problem for many people.

Although most ebayers start small. By selling thier own stuff to make money. You would be surprised how much you can make off the useless junk you have sitting around. This also helps you build your feedback rating.

When I first started Me and my wife sold our kids clothes that they couldnt wear anymore. We then sold our entire Dvd collection which we had over 300 movies. and A broken Xbox we had. This built up our feedback quickly, and gave us enough money to buy our first bulk Lingerie lot with over 500 pieces. And the rest is history. Now we sell around 250 items per week and generate a steady income from our sales. Were not rich but were definately not worried about money anymore.

We never spent our investment money and we make sure to have at least 300 items in stock at all times so we have items to sell.

So for those of you without investment capital. Start small and sell your unused items. My younger brother has also done this to get started. He didnt have alot to get started with but he started by selling off a couple of old cell phones he had sitting around, now he is doing quite well.

Dont give up because funds are low. :D

Thank you for the info..

Could you answer me something else? How do you research what will sell and what won't? I know some things that sell very well.. IE: Ipods, Digital Cameras and such.. but how do you find out what else sells? I guess that is a hard question to answer but I don't know how to find stuff I don't know about. I mean I can search for Ipods or Lingerie or bras.. because I know what they are called so I can research them.. but is there a way to find out about magic stuff that I don't know about?

You just have to find your niche. Check out what other sellers are selling. Dont go after all the electronics because that can drown a new ebayer quickly. Just browse ebay and look at what items are selling. Check the sellers feedback to see what hes selling more of then anything else. It will give you an idea as to what little niches are out there.

Although in a few weeks we are opening a new revamped salehoo site which will have tools that will make your search for a product line much easier. :D
