I have a australian ebay, ssid2008. I want to open a store, but i can't. only have 1 feed back. I sold couple of items, but no one leaves feed back for me. Any simple and quick and popular item to sell to boost my feed back to at least 5-10 or more in order to open a ebay store.

thanks

Hi raraz,

I used to have that problem when I was just starting out at Ebay. What you can do for now is to send messages to those who have bought from you to say "Hi, thank you for your purchase. Please do not forget to leave feedback for me. It will be very much appreciated." That's how I actively got my first feedbacks. :)

I read a great tip recently for getting more traffic to eBay listings. This Power Seller buys designer stuff in any condition from garage sales, second-hand shops – basically wherever he finds it – just so he can always have some really eye-catching items for sale on his store.

Hope this helps. :) Let me know if you need more help.

Kind regards,

Irene

That's good advice from Irene, but what you can do if you are looking to build up your feedback is hit a garage sale or weekend market. Grab a hand full of really cheap items (ones that have a chance at selling lol).

List them all at 0.99 with cheap shipping just to sell them off and get your feedback rolling. That's how I actually got my feedback rolling. For me it was sunglasses. I went to a garage sale and bought a box of sunglasses they had there for 10 bucks.

Think there was about a dozen pair in all, so I listed them each at 0.99 and shipped at cost. Can't remember if I actually made anything on them, but they all sold and I was away with good solid feedback.

As Irene said, definitely contact your customers with a thanks you for their purchase, and a friendly reminder that you would appreciate their feedback. Just make sure you have already left feedback for them first lol, or they may not be that keen on helping you out.

HI Raraz,

An important idea I learned from SaleHoo in deciding what products to sell is to start with the market, and not the product. We need to focus on the group of customers we wish to sell products to in order to make wise decisions about what items to sell. A niche market would be a small group of consumers with a common special need. Consumer group examples given are those people suffering from hairloss or parents of babies with skin allergies. This will allow you to develop your business naturally by looking for other related items that your target market will search for. Sales will roll on by having a definite group of purchasing customers. With this perspective in place, it will also help to consider what goes along with your interests. Hopefully this will inspire you to decide which products you would be willing to work on. Once you have an item in mind, you can search for 'dropshippers' in our directory offering such product. Let me know if you need help searching in our directory.

If you haven’t yet, do take a look at our downloanable PDF Bonus Guides about dropshipping and what to sell in 2010. You can do this by cliking on Education on the topmost part of the SaleHoo front page and the next page will give you choices on the left. Click on Guides and you will have access to useful information about the ins and outs of dropshipping and a guide on finding profitable products to sell.

All the best!

YOU can sell some goods at very cheap prices, but the customers need to send you feedback. Is it a good idea?

I understand you are referring to Fudjj's suggestion on getting the feedback rolling. I think yes it is actually a smart move, you get your money back (without any expectation of earning profits from the items, but good if you do) and then you get feedback. Of course you cannot force a positive feedback, but if it’s of good quality at $0.99, tendency will be to earn those good feedbacks you need at once, instead of waiting for several major transactions. It’s a good, harmless trick. :)
