Hi everyone, not sure if I am in the right place (coffee lounge) but I have just joined and I am wondering if I should start with an ozzy wholesaler so I dont have the worries with duties and shipping etc as yet.
Would appreciate any advice. Thankyou bevleeman

I think you're on the right track for sure, especially with the Aussie dollar taking a bashing at the moment. The current economic weather is made for exporters, not importers!

If you are looking at wholesalers however, you will need to be buying in decent volume to have any chance of producing margin, depending on the product of course.

Do you have a product/s in mind, and what's the distribution plan?

I am open to suggestions at this stage. I tend to steer towards the products in which I am interested myself eg high end bedding, perfumes, lingerie....but I know that is not the way to go. I have a lot of research to do yet - your site is huge and full of info i have yet to read.

I thought maybe of starting softly softly, selling to friends and family in single quantities, (wedding dress for my daughter) and ultimately moving onto internet selling. Your Auction-source company sounded very interesting also.

So many choices!!!!Bevleeman

I think product knowledge is an important part of any sale, and selling what you know best could be the best thing to do.

Sounds to me like you have the right attitude, crawling before you try sprinting, and gaining some valuable learning experience along the way.

The Auction-Source venture certainly is an interesting one, and it's something I would dearly love to see get a good foot hold, but for now it is taking a back seat due to other more pressing ventures demanding much of my time.

Hopefully some time next year I can progress that a little further, but good luck with your sales, and congrats on your daughters upcoming wedding : )
