Ok granted I am very new to the wholesale industry, but i just cant seem to find a single way to make money at it. I want to sell ipods cell phones or gaming consoles. I understand the profit is not huge on these and its mainly volume. I have been looking on liquidation.com for the ipods but the maximum bid reacheas a point to it being useless. These items are going cheaper on ebay than what I can buy them for. The xbox 360 premium is selling for about 330.00, I cant find one less than 375. Am i doing something wrong or looking in the wrong places? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

No your not doing anything wrong. Your just finding out the truth about wholesale. Its not as easy as the media makes you think. Deals for these items are out there. But you have to find them. And its not easy. If you also notice the majority of xbox360's on the market are refurbished. Look closely at the sellers. There are very few selling brand new consoles. The rest are sellers selling refurbished units or selling personal units. There are many that will buy bulk broken units. Fix them and resell them for profits.

I have actually been searching for a unit myself for my daughters. And Have been watching every auction for the last few days. With the exception of the new ebayers trying to sell New Units. There are very few powersellers selling them. That means they have a key profit source. And I doubt they will be willing to share them to anyone.

With all this being said I must add you are trying to jump into the worng market. And already established market that you have very little chance of getting into.

As far as cell phones there will always be a strong market for them
Try visiting places like Link hidden: Login to view

Setup an account and do a little research on thier prices versus the average ebay selling prices. I bet you will find many phones you can profit on.

Here is some advice that anyone who has been trading for a while will agree with. Stay away from things like iPods, consoles anything mainstream that EVERYONE is already doing.

There is far too much competition and the markets have already been cornered.

Look for specialty items. Just look for things that you think would sell that no one else is doing or you can do cheaper. Ask your friends about what they want or have. I get alot of inspiration from just talking to my freinds and seeing what they are into and then researching it.

You are right, there are alot of people selling items on eBay. That also means there are alot of people who could potentially be selling wholesale on eBay.

I have found a couple of people who I just contacted and found out they sell wholesale and for a far cheaper price.

Definately look to ebay for wholesalers. Keep at it, it does take time and yes... it does take money.

Good luck.

The wholesale market is controlled but certain people. I say this because in some ways it is true. The firend of a firend gig. In order to get a good supplier you must know the right people. At times you can find the right supplier without the firend part. It is just a whole lot harder. Most of my suppliers I have gotten from friends or from their friends. Just like getting a job at times. The best jobs often come from netowrking. I met my Sony supplier on my space. Networking is my biggest tip here today. Know the market and know the people within the market.

Buying in bulk helps I'm sure. Does anyone know of any decent suppliers either on this site or off that are ok. I have the ability to spend about 30k-40k per month if need be, but no more than that. Is this an average amount to spend or am i way off?

If you have that big of a spending margin you need to hit the big distributers up like Link hidden: Login to view And buy some liquidated trailerloads from some liquidators. Check out our liquidators section and browse the truckload setups.
