There is so much information here, which is great! But I'm not sure where to start. Ive never posted anything on eBay. I would like to have my own website, but I think eBay is a good place to start.

Just wanted to say welcome to Salehoo. I am a new member as well. My bit of advice is to figure out what your short term goal is, and concentrate on this. Do everything you can to learn about the area(s) that you want to concentrate on, and why you want to concentrate on this.

If you try biting off too much, you will probably become overwhelmed. This will cause you to either not do enough research and get burned, or cause you to give up before you start. I would also try my hardest to limit the risks you take to the largest extent possible.

Best of luck.
Chris

Welcome guys! :)

@bucfsan: Great advice!

@Smithshpt: For starters you can try sticking to something you are familiar with, that way it will be easier for you to market. Also its best you spend ample time for research - read, read and read some more!

When you finally think you're ready to list your products, search for old things around your home and start with that. Let it be a sort of practice to get the hang of listing and selling. The great thing about selling things from your household is that you don't need much capital or none at all.

All the best guys! :)
