Hello world!

I am a new member, I will introduce myself.
First, I apologize for my English, I'll do my best to make myself understood.

My name is Jeremy, I have almost 18 years I am French, I live in France.
I'm a schoolboy, I make a professional bachelor of Commerce.

Later I want to be a seller on the internet (Ebay and other sites ...)

That's why I registered here, I want to explore what I can find, see if it meets my needs, I would try to sell some things for my debut, so I can judge whether I succeed or not.

I need to be reassured at the idea that I can succeed. I want to find good suppliers, that it works well without any problems, so I'll try and I count on your help! :)

I await your answers before we talk about certain things.
I am very happy to be here:)

Thank you

Thank you for your reply.

I am happy to be here, I hope I find everything I search here.

You know, in France, on Ebay for example, video games on Playstation 3 will sell extremely well, especially the recent games! The games that come out!

There are many games released, especially in this time because there are some big titles coming out (Black Ops Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, etc. ...).

In Europe, there is a format of games meet, I live in France, so I need some games to PAL format, and following versions, the French language is available or not.

For that, I found a picture on the internet
Link hidden: Login to view
Look, bottom left, select PS3, then watch the games I wrote above, to give you an example.
For versions U.S. or UK, or CA, it depends, sometimes the code is to be verified.

You think I can find suppliers / wholesalers for Playstation 3 games lately? These are the games that interest me lately.

What do you think?

Apart from that, I might direct me to clothing for example, or other fashionable products that sell well on Ebay.
I hope I can find something and I could order freely, you know my profile ...

I await your review for knowing where I'm heading, but first I am interested in video games.

Thank you for your help:)

You've identified two very popular areas within the eBay marketplace in games and clothing.

There are a few different supply avenues available for these types of products, however all aren't as cost effective as some. What supply platform are you considering, Wholesale, Drop Shipping or Second Hand?

Thank you for your answer.
I did not understand the end of your answer well.

Yes, it is true, the video games and clothing is the two most popular fields in the market on Ebay.

In first, I would like initially to see what I can find to supply myself in video games for PS3 with the format PAL for France (Europe), I was wondering what price I can find out the latest games.

To try to answer you, to buy approximately interests me, but other techniques also… Which is best according to you, while following my profile, for my beginning? Wholesalers? Drop Shipping?
What means “Second Hand”?

I am curious to know if I can find handsome prices for certain products, so that I can resell them has handsome prices to earn enough money (Benefit).
If my beginning goes, I would invest myself and I would build something of very serious in this work.
I am here to judge if my beginning will be rather profitable has the future.

Say to me what you advise me. Do I start with the video games, then I would look for clothing and anything else does have the fashion and popular for Ebay, have an idea?

Thank you to help me:)

Hi again Jeremy,

Marc basically gave you 3 possible sources, whether you will buy them through -

*Wholesale otherwise known as bulk buying. You can get the best prices when you buy from wholesalers. Take note that the more you buy the lower the prices will go - a price quotation for 10 pieces will be much higher than for an order of 200 pieces.

*Dropshipping is often used by many sellers (especially beginners), it offers lower risks since you don't need to stock the products yourself but it gives you lower profit margins as well. Dropshipping gives you more room to experiment and explore with different types of products as well as suppliers.

*Second Hand is the sale of pre-loved or used items but are in good condition. There are suppliers that sell second games and the market is relatively good for these items as well. But you may have to point out that you are selling a second hand item on your listing so your buyers will know.

You might find this guide helpful in learning more about the different types of suppliers you can source your products from - Link hidden: Login to view

If this will be your first time selling on eBay - I would suggest selling a few of your own things from around your home for starters just so you get the feel of it and this also helps you build your feedback without too much capital spent.

To find out what are popular items to sell on eBay please check out these recently added guides -

I thank you for all these documents has to read:)

Yes, the wholesale/wholesalers interests me much, I thus seek wholesalers for the recent video games for PS3.

The video games of occasions also interest me much, if one finds suppliers for PS3 and that they are recent plays, I want well.

For the moment I research in video games, then I would look for other products.

I hope so much to find suppliers accessible for me…

Thank you for your assistance while waiting for your answer! :)

PS: If you do not understand what I say, I excuse myself, I am French, but I shoed all the required efforts, then said it to me! :)

Hello!

I read all the pages that you advised me to read, as well as those already created for video games PS3.
I also visited the supplier sites that you put me. But do not deliver RegalGames all over the world, and Resellers' / Tax ID Required ... I have nothing like that, and I live in France.

After we have finished this discussion, I would go further explore the site, and I would look to see what I find and give me ideas on what I can sell to begin with.

For now, I know that would work well for sale is:
- Video Games
- Clothing
- Maybe the jewelry ... Makeup ... Perfume ...

What do you think?

I await your reply, and I go back to the PS3 video games lately.
I know that even games opportunities sold very well, how to find suppliers? Wholesalers would suit me very well because I can order in bulk now.
Games or new opportunities, but I think that wholesalers would be the right way, right?

Can be drop shippers or manufacturer directly because it is the same way that wholesalers must buy in large quantities.

Do not forget that I am not a beginner in the sale (see my presentation) I have knowledge, also on Ebay.

To you advise me:)

Thank you again for your help:)

Hi Jeremy,

Since you are based in France, you can use your VAT ID which is the equivalent of the US sales tax ID.

Some suppliers would be willing to do special arrangements for you - like international shipping, if you try asking them directly. After all this will still be a sale on their part.

Here are wholesale suppliers for PS3 games that ship internationally -

Link hidden: Login to view
Link hidden: Login to view
Link hidden: Login to view
Link hidden: Login to view - Their site is being revamped at the moment but you can try contacting them to inquire about the PS3 games they have in-stock

Clothing, jewelry and perfume are also good sellers - but these are very broad product categories, so it might be ideal to narrow it down to specifics. This way you'll be able to focus more on the products you want to sell and be able to really market them.

Hope this helps. Cheers :)

Thank you for your reply.

Okay, I understand, I will contact providers in the future without hesitation then.

How to use my tax ID? I have absolutely nothing (I'm sorry, I try to understand better ...)

Apart from that, examples of products listed for sale, you have other product ideas or advice? :)

You're welcome Jeremy :)

In France, you can get your VAT ID directly from the Chamber of trade and industry if you and your business are both located in France. You will be asked to sign a statement of establishment allowing your business to be registered with all the administrative departments, and in particular the tax authorities. The tax authorities will then carry out the necessary formalities to register the company and allocate it an intra-Community VAT number.

(Just for reference) If your company is NOT in France but located in another country within the EU, you must register with the non-resident's tax centre at the address below:

Centre des impôts des non-résidents (CINR)
Inspection TVA, 9 rue d'Uzès
TSA 39203
75094 PARIS cedex 02
Tel : (+33-1) 44 76 19 07 (or 08 or 09)

Another hot selling category would be - Toys! Especially for the coming holidays. To f ind out more about the possible great sellers for Christmas please visit this link:

Ok :)

True, the toys is a very interesting idea, I had thought a moment, and Christmas is coming!

ideas are growing ! :)

I understand better. Does it cost to have a VAT number?
To get it, is it mandatory that I open my business?
Or I can just ask for a VAT number freely?

Thank you for your help. :)

Sorry, Jeremy I'm not sure how much it will cost you to get a VAT ID in France. For sure if you go through agencies then you will pay a fee. Have you tried calling the number in my previous post? If you haven't I suggest you do so you can ask them directly about the exact procedure of getting a VAT ID in France.

No you don't need a physical store, EU issued a directive making digital services collect VAT from sellers who reside, have a permanent address, or are established in the European Union - starting on 1 July 2003.

Business sellers who submit a valid VAT identification number and satisfy the other requirements of the business registration process can register for a VAT exemption and will not be charged VAT on purchases.

So if you think about it, having a VAT ID will exempt you from paying VAT when you buy anything online and it allows you to charge VAT to your customers within the EU.

Hope this helps :)

Okay, thank you for that information, I would watch it later.

For now, I will first get interested in finding product ideas, feel free to advise me or give me ideas if you have:)

Do you think that even without the VAT number of suppliers I can find interesting? I risk of customs charges in my opinion ...

Hi Jeremy,

Being VAT compliant in Europe will get you access to large wholesale distributors, and if you're looking at the video games market then buying in volume really is the only way to source competitive prices when it comes to new games.

My understanding is that there is no charge to become VAT compliant, but I'm not 100% about that just off hand. Of course the big advantage of being VAT compliant is dealing outside the European Union block. Purchasing from suppliers that provide you with a VAT receipt then means that you can claim that 17.5 back, where as you won't get that benefit trading within the European Union, but you will still get access to wholesale pricing.

: )

In the wholesale genre, yes. Most wholesale suppliers will require tax identification to setup an account for you. Without that, no account and without van account, no wholesale prices.

Of course if you are considering supply avenues such as Drop Shipping, then a VAT won't serve to get you better prices at all, it's really only for wholesale purchasing, which is volume purchasing. The more units you purchase, the better the price you will buy for using a wholesale supply model.

I understand better, so I'll wait.

Drop shipping does not help to have good prices? The profit is too low?

What is the best way to source for great prices and the best prices, it is to buy wholesale?

Thank you very much for your precious help:)

Yes, there are advantages and disadvantages to both Wholesale and Drop Shipping.

Now there are several advantages, but essentially the big advantage of Drop Shipping is low or no cash flow required as you don't pay for the item until the item is actually ordered. At that point in time you have been paid and can then use that money to pay for the order.

Let's say you have a friend who has a car he wants sold, but doesn't know much about cars and doesn't want the hassle of dealing with inquiries. So you say, well I ll take a shot at selling it for you if you give me X percent of the sale price.

What you are doing is brokering a deal between two parties, the product's owner and the products buyer. That is what Drop Shipping is in a nutshell, you are brokering the deal between the product's owner and the purchaser. You never actually own the product yourself.

There are also several disadvantages acting as a broker (Drop Shipping), and one of the biggest is the profit margin. Of course with Drop Shipping you are only buying a single item at a time, so essentially it's almost like buying from a retailer themselves.

Several advantages and disadvantages to purchasing Wholesale as well, with the biggest advantage being the more you buy, the better your purchase price is per unit.

This then makes you far more competitive in the marketplace as you now have some margin to play with. The biggest disadvantage of Wholesale is what makes Drop Shipping so appealing to many... the cash flow required.

Of course to by in volume you need upfront cash flow.

: )

Our review system provides you with information from multiple sources, allowing you to get a very accurate picture of what to expect from each supplier.

Here's what I found when I searched for what is duty-free in France -

Shipments of value below 22 EURO (USD 22 circa) may be subject to duty-free import entry.

Import duty rates are divided into two classifications: Most Favored Nation (MFN) and General. Import duties are calculated on ad valorem basis, i.e. expressed as a percentage of the value of the imported goods.

Most imports enter under MFN Rates (Most Favored Nation) rates. Relative high tariffs apply to textile, automobile, consumer electronics, cereal, meat, dairy, sugar, alcohol, and tobacco.

Excise duty rates may also be applicable on certain items such as alcohol and tobacco. For further information, please contact the French Customs at Link hidden: Login to view

Below is a summary of the new rules for EU deminimis value that enter into effect December 1, 2008:

* A commercial shipment below 22 Euros: no duty and no VAT collected.
* A commercial shipment between 22 Euros and 150 Euros: no duty but VAT is collected.
* A commercial shipment over 150 Euros: duty and VAT are collected.

If you want to read more, please go to Link hidden: Login to view and scroll down to Import Duties

To avoid custom fees or duties then you will have to stay within the allotted limit or value stated above.

Hope this helps.
