Hello to All .............brand new to Salehoo just today .....Living in Six-burgh here in the USA, yep .... go STEELERS. Anyway, just a starving artist looking for a way to make some bucks. I want to start with something small, something manageable, ya know? Is there any one thing that most new-bies have the best success with? All of this information here is so overwhelming, just not real sure where OH where to begin??? It all looked so easy when I got hooked in by the ad!!! Thought 'gee, this is just what I need'.... now that I'm here, I have no idea what direction to go in. (suffer with AADD)..... But, I've had minor success selling a camera strap- jerry's Swamp Strap on ebay.....$12.95 each.....I have a ton of them too. Wondering if I just need to invest in promoting it more? (artists are lousy at marketing). I also babble alot. Anyway.............any words of wisdom are more than welcome.....
thanks.

Hi There,

Welcome to salehoo, know what you mean about the marketing, got us all at one point!

Well its not easy although as an artist I'm guessing you are quite creative? Its a matter of putting time in and research in. You will also find a few helpful members on the forum with some very good advice!

Let us know more about your ideas and we will see what we can do...

The gift of creativity often gets in one's own way...... lol.

But ..... naturally I would like to sell something I'm interested.....so, of course artwork, and/or art and craft supplies of any kind rank high, jewelry - jewelry making supplies ... but, I suspect the ebay market is saturated there; And I love fabric, I can spend hours just looking at fabric swatches.

Also worth noting, I am a Certified Pedorthist, which means I know a lot about feet!!! and all the things related to feet ..... shoes, inserts and orthotics. I'm hoping to start a new part time job in the near future, I will be going out to people's homes to fit and measure and cast their feet for diabetic shoes and custom inserts. So, maybe I should be selling something related to this???? Diabetic Socks and elastic shoe laces, and long-reach shoe horns????

So, I guess I'm beginning the process here, huh. Brainstorming.

All words of wisdom deeply appreciated.

I say go for it!! You would be surprised what sells. If you love art, then sell art. Start out slow then work yourself up.

I'm trying to work my way around the auction inspector ........ but DANG! seems no matter what search word i enter .......... the stats aren't good, Not in my favor. Everything i'm interested in - the ebay market appears to be saturated with it.

It seems like such a sin, a waste to me ....... that I should have all these images hoarded and saved in my computer, thousands of photo's, and hundreds of little sketches, doodles, and small watercolor paintings --- and not have what it takes to figure out how to make a few bucks from it all.

one of these days ............. i'm going to figure it out.

I absolutely love making greeting cards ............ but dang; how much can i get for a freaking greeting card, and how many of them would i have to sell???? I have to find the pulse of this industry somehow.

hope no one minds my babbling.

Instead of auction inspector try searching for 'Google Snatch'. Just a hint for a fellow 'artist' inventor. You'll probably have great results!
