Hi all.

Ive only just joined Salehoo but have spent hours and hours trying to find suppliers that are cheaper than what is being sold on ebay, other than importing from China, so was initially rather disappointed. However, I have read quite a lot of the posts on here and they seem to confirm my reluctance to buy from China...mainly as the goods dont appear to be genuine - especially for designer sunglasses and bags which is what I was looking at. Im now going to change tack completely and try smaller cheaper goods and buy in bulk and try to shift loads. Anyone have any views or advice?

Start UR Store has some great products below wholesale. Here is a new product we have just recieved in. The price starts at $21.60 per chair. Start UR Store has also just lowered the minimum purchase to $50. This will help you get started selling on ebay or your own website. The reason your not finding a wholesaler that has lower prices then ebay is because Ebay is a wholesalers marketplace. Most items sell for wholesale or below wholesale. The majority sell below wholesale.

The same people that sell items wholesale sell on ebay to clear out stock. They sell to you to make extra money at your expense. I see at least 100 people a month come in here and ask this. Ive had to reply to similar questions like this every week.

If you want to compete on ebay your looking for the wrong thing.
You want liquidators and bulk wholesalers. The only way your going to get product at a good profitable price is to buy items in bulk.

Many of the wholesalers listed in our directories offer nice bulk discounts and wholesale prices. But also many of them expect you to have a business liscense and resellers permit to aquire such discounts. there are a few that dont require this but they a few and far apart. And they dont offer them direct on thier websites either. You have to contact them by email or phone to get these offers.

Yes im sorry, What I just mentioned sounded like work. I guess a few will be giving up now. Because that is just want some of you didnt want to hear.

The reason I know this is because I am one of the reviewers contacting these companies and doing reviews on thier site, products, and service. The companies that have sent me pricelists have send me lists with much better prices then the ones listed on thier websites. But this in turn means you have to buy some products in mins of $1,000 .

Everyone expects that they can just buy the membership to this site and then get instant access to the wholesalers and killer deals.
whip out thier credit card, buy the item, list it on ebay and make tons of profit. It doesnt work that way. Most big sellers on ebay only make a few dollars for each item they sell. But they sell thousands of items a month.

Many of you come here expecting to find big items like xbox360's and playstations at 50-100 less then they are selling on ebay. That kind of deal just doesnt exist. Since the manufacturing costs of these items are around 20 less then the average selling price on ebay. You might find a liquidator trying to clear out some overstock on these items but they will dissapear usually within a couple of hours when 1 wealthy seller sees the deal and buys out everything.

We just provide a huge database of over 10,000 wholesalers. Its your job to contact them and make the deals for yourself.

You think you can find better deals just by getting on goole and in 1 min you find a site with way better prices on anything you can think of?

Well I bet in 5 min I can take your list of sites and tear them apart very quickly to find out if those sites are scam sites which there is a unbelievable amount of. And if they have horrible customer service.

I get approximately 50 website requests a week and have found that 98% of them are untrustworthy. And others boast great prices but boost shipping to rates that one would consider stupid.

You know that old saying 'If it sound to good to be true, Then it usually is.'

I have been in 1 business or the other for 12 years and have seen many scams and bought many lists only to find myself once again broke and wasting my time.

If you want to succeed on a place like ebay you need to spend countless hours on research and constantly working to find your niche.

I found mine and it took me 12 years. How long will you waste wandering around the net trying to find a wholesaler that can beat ebays below wholesale prices?

You need to find bulk supplies and liquidators. They were designed to sell to wholesalers.

Wholesalers are designed for retailers only. If your selling on ebay your a wholesaler not a retailer.

Hope this helps. If you have any questions that I might be able to help you with dont hesitate to ask.

Are you telling me, I can not expect to start selling 2/4/07, not spend any of my own money, and make $1,000,000 by 3/4/07
I thought this was going to be easy
It's not worth it then (ha ha ha)

.quote]

This is completely true.

That being said, it must also be said that there are a lot of affiliates who do deliberately portray Salehoo in that way in order to get their 40 bucks commission. I'm not talking about all Salehoo affiliates - but I have seen quite a few ads that play it up as something that you just pay your money to join and then 'hey presto' here's all this amazing stuff that you can get up to so many percent off (can't remember the exact amount I usually see in ads - I think it's either 70% or 90%). Then, of course, new members come in and get disillusioned because it's different to what they expected.

I know there's a great latitude given in the way in which affiliates can choose to market Salehoo, but I do sometimes wonder that there aren't some sorts of balances and checks to put in place to make sure that membership isn't being misrepresented by a minority. If people are joining up with the sort of expectations you've discussed in your post and if some advertisements seem almost designed to lead them to expect it, then you can't totally blame them. It's probably worth checking out the ad that led them to Salehoo in the first place. I'll bet that in at least some cases there will be a direct connection.

PS It's really nice to hear someone voice just how much research work is involved in the whole ebay thing, because it's the one thing you never hear in all those 'get rich' ebooks. Research is all I've done for 2 months, and even though my first sales are going up this week, product research and checking out/communicating with potential suppliers takes up far more time than getting my listings ready. It's not brain surgery, but it takes the same sort of effort that you'd have to put into doing any other job properly. The only difference for me is that I can choose my hours and work around other demanding aspects of my life - not that I can make some instant money without working for it.

Salehoo is a useful aid in doing the hard work, but it isn't a substitute for doing the hard work.

I understand that a lot of work is involved, and personal contact needs to be made with liquidators and distributors. I am not afraid of hard, time intensive work...but starting out is very intimidating. Can someone please point me in a good direction for finding people to contact, and lead to chase. Even this sight, with all of it's listings is pretty over whelming. Just looking for some direction. Thank You.

mabullas,
I agree totally with your post. I have seen many Ads for salehoo from affiliate sites portraing us like you can join and instantly start finding products Dirt cheap for obscene profits. And point and click yourself to riches. This is definately not the case.

Heck if anyone finds something like this I want to know lol.

And here was I thinking that hundreds of affiliates were now going to pummel me with big sticks!!!!!

I think I found the motherload of exaggeration just 5 minutes ago. It wouldn't let me copy and paste it, but if you bring up this page, you'll notice somewhere in the sponsored links a claim that Salehoo has thousands of DVD wholesalers:

Thousands??? Just selling wholesale DVDs??? :?:

Very true... but many sellers still try to ignore it and cry the unfairness of suppliers :)

Regarding liquidations.com I would to remind that it's not for starters, it's not plug and play and I would like to remind that selling is NOT getting-rich-quick, it's a lot of work and a lot of fun.

They are correct. This is not something done easy that you would just set it and forget it.

The research is hard work but not boring by any means....

It also becomes much easier once you can direct traffic to your website or websites and just leave it on automatic all the time.

Nothing is fail-safe and there are still alot of scams to beware of...

But for the most part, it is worth every last hour spent in this business as you get back what you put in in spades.

And you can do it part time at any time, at any place, and never regret a day of it.

Doing the work to establish relationships with wholesalers and suppliers is the most important step, that can be hard work, it might be intimidating for some.

But it is the most vital step of the entire roadmap to so called 'thousands' and the most fun one if you can stand learning something new and how to get it done!

Hi All

I'm New Here , Well i have had the membership for a while now but never used it,

You see i can relate to what is being said here because i have been looking for success for about 2 years now and i have just found in the last few months a couple of programs that are working,

There are alot of scams out There and i have been taken in a few times with these get rich scams

And now im sorry to say i get sick and tired of people thinking they can sign up and make money just like that. ITS NOT THAT EASY

I can remember when i first went on ebay and thought this is it, I'm going to be rich, unfortuntly i was wrong

Then i gave up

But i came back again and once again i gave up

But im back again but the difference is i am doing the 'RESEARCH'

You see the internet has taken me on a ragged ride but i have learnt from that, And i now understand its not as easy as alot of sites make it out to be, So don't be fooled by the pound signs,

Its taken me 2 years to get to where i am now and i know i have many more years ahead of me, You have proof in jimmy_salehoo Post , it took him 12 years.

This is the reason im in here now , I'm 'RESEARCHING' Finding the clue's To Try And unlock a bit more Information Before i Try and make eBay One of my income streams

To Get Any where in this Niche (making money online)
You need to find Heart, Power And Drive to become a success.

If you got this then you will make it, It might not be today, or next month, Nor in a Year, Hell it might take years But you will Get There,

I am new here also, and somewhat new to the wholesale / dropshipping scene, but I know that like anything else, you HAVE to do your homework! So far, from what I have seen, the admission price has already paid for it's self, and I have sold nothing yet. You have to understand that information is power, and that is what they are 'selling'.

Just watching the videos on ways to advertise in the affiliate section was worth alot. And from what I have seen in my short time here, the wholesale companies here have good prices, especially if you have a little to invest ($100 - $500).

With a little leg-work, I think you can do very well here. I have already found 2 'monster' deals after a little digging, and I am not even started yet. Enough of my rambling.. Kudos to salehoo and their staff! I think your doing a great job.
