Paypal's New Policy for Holding Funds for 21 Days is now on Effect! I have 5 transactions that are pending until the buyer leave a positive feedback or if they can verify delivery of the item/items purchase from USPS or FedEX. This just sucks though because I use UPS for all my shipments

I just signed up with Merchantinc.com I can't wait to set up my new merchant account. I don't know about you guys/gals but if i were you, SWITCH NOW to a Reliable and A REAL MERCHANT!!!!!

From Mordecai: Can anyone advise now as to the status of paypal and withholding funds? What are some of the safer merchant accounts? I am fairly new to salehoo. Does salehoo support any merchant accounts or offer recommendations?

So far it looks like several thousand sellers have jumped the paypal ship and went on to other payment services. Link hidden: Login to view for the last poster that asked for a secure merchant provider.

Jimmy, do I need to get approve to accept Discover/Novus, JBC, and Dinners Club credit card? Do I need somekind of a requirement like American Express for me to be able to accept these credit cards? Thanks in advance Jimmy! =)

By the way, does anybody know how I can block others to NOT steal my html?

I have had major issues with paypal and will also be trying this merchant on ebay. The main issue is that a lot of the products that I sell(iphones, ipods etc) have to be listed as a paypal listing. Any ideas on how to get around that!

You can disable eBay's Checkout and paypal payments all together. Just go to your preferences on your ebay account.

By the way, I just completed my first transaction using merchantinc.com and I have to say, their service is excellent!!! NOW I CAN REALLY SAY GOODBYE TO PAYPAL!!!! I recommend getting a real merchant account. It does take some time to set it up but it is all worth it.

The only special requirements are for the American express cards. The rest are easy and simple and require nothing extra from you.

Thanks Jimmy! Now I have full control of the funds without ever worrying about paypal freezing my account.

Oh thanks for that info Jimmy! I though I need somekind of a requirement to accept these type of credit cards. Now I can add them =) Thanks again!

This won't effect the View Source or Save Page functions on the browser unfortunately. About the only way to secure a page is to redo it in a higher-up language than HTML and use an encoder (eg. Zend Encoder for PHP.)

You can use UTF-8 to encode HTML, which will prevent people from being able to usefully view the source but won't prevent them from saving the file.

Aside from that, not much you can actually do.

Paymate.com is really good.
just on Friday I informed my bank to close my bank account and closed my credit cards all my information to paypal.

Then I start to communicate with buyers a few days ago to arrange refund them there money which is hold by paypal and they get there money's and re-send it to me using different payment method, so after my paypal account was on hold and about 3000$ was hold there I just have now about 29.00$ only in paypal. so they can make a profit out of 29.00$ :-) instead of 3000$.

I will never use paypal in my life or ebay they have to becomes a history they crossed the red lines since a while and makes a lot of $$$$ from people money and providing urgent and rude answers to the there users like we are workers for them they upside down the normal situation.

Has anyone been reading the PAYPAL BLOG that has been posted on eBay's General Announcement, where it says Safer Payment Requirements Go Into Effect on March 17? Well, I did write a post on March 14 about how safe paypal really is but until now, my post did not show while others who posted on March 14 had their message posted already. I guess they don't like what I stated on that post LOL! I mainly said that Paypal is not really safe and that they have full control over your funds. I also stated that to get a real merchant account where you as a seller is protected by Federal Banking Laws.

I have a merchant account already so i am in the process of setting that up. Did eBay require you to fax any documentation before they let you list with a merchant account? Did they call you to verify that you are who they say you are or did they just send an email confirming that everything was clear to go? Thanks.

I think they always delete post that are against their company. They don't want people to realize that what we are saying is the absolute truth :D They want people to believe that they are protected by them. I'll try to post again until it shows up LOL!

They never ask me of such thing. All I did was set up my merchant account and my shopping cart and link it with ebay. The have this area on you account, I think it's on your preferrence where it says third party. Mine was automated though because all I did was link my shopping cart with ebay :D

Yeah I never had to fax any info to ebay. I just turned off the paypal option and went directly with my own shopping cart links.

You can turn off the Paypal option directly from your listings. Then before the actual listing goes live a pop up comes up saying that I have to fax them a statement. I don't have a problem doing that.
Gr- I don't see in preferences anywhere that says 3rd party. I do know that my shoppng cart is already there on my current listings. I just need to set up some kind of template now.

Okay I'm going to jump on the band wagon here. I've managed to secure about 500 items from a top children's label from their factory. I usually list everything through Auctiva and I do not offer paypal however I state that through my other business (nothing to do with internet/ebay) I will accept credit card. I am also going to be listing a lot of items on Oztion and hope to redirect some of my ebay traffic to there.

Can someone please explain to me about paymate or any other options that you may know of. Also do you think that I would achieve more sales by offering something like paypal on my auctions as opposed to my other credit facility?

TIA
Cam

I prefer it because the main time I have to create listings is at 12Am to 4AM so its not exactly a good option to list these items at that time of the morning lol.

In response to the rumor that Paypal is now holding funds for 21 days......it is untrue. I receive payments via Paypal and have access to all payments immediately. I also contacted Paypal Customer Service to ask if this is something that may happen in the future and they advised me there is no truth
to this at all. Just an FYI for all those Paypal users out there.

This is only dependant on the products you sell and your DSR ratings. If you are a dropship seller then its likely they will flag you and you will have to wait the 21 day or Pos feedback settup. This change will not affect every seller.

I rather trust my merchant provider than paypal for ONE REASON... I have full control over the funds and the protection of Federal Banking Laws!!!!

It might be true that paypal is not holding your funds right now but ONE issue (probably from a bad eBayer) will trigger paypal to hold your funds and they don't care if you need the money or not. You signed up for it and you agreed to their terms so basically you're letting them have full control over your money..

Im in serious need of a vacation.
